  1. The bottom 7 are the same 7 I would expect to see near the bottom at the end of the season.
  2. Very true... I'd also add Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard to that list.
  3. You clearly don't, the subject to voice an opinion about was with ref: George Burley and his failings, not Boyd.

Glad one of you agrees that we'd get 30,000 + There are other premier league teams with similar ridiculous wages, but no-one is sugesting that you could be the only club to see it all disintergrate. Big Dazza is. Apparently we're the club most vulnerable. Even though many others have debts far in excess of ours. The main point is that your owner has been borrowing money against the security of the club, and if he leaves, it is the club that needs to pay it back. This makes a further takeover less likely as whoever takes over needs to repay/guarantee the debts. But we'd be much cheaper to buy than most other Prem clubs which actually makes us quite attractive for people looking to buy a club. We currently have around 4 interested parties looking at Pompey, one of whom is carrying out due diligence. Look at it this way, you could buy Pompey, build the stadium and training ground and still have spent less than it would have cost to buy Everton or Newcastle. If he clears off, having mortgaged everything that moves, saggy face will be right behind him, and the whole thing will collapse. The loan taken out last January needs to be repaid, and the balance of some of the transfer fees are also due soon. Why would he just walk away when he could sell the club and make a massive profit on what he paid in the first place? For someone who got into PFC to make money, that idea makes no sense whatsoever. Still, it could be worse for you, after all, Sol Campbell must have a massive sell on value. Massive profit ???? Are you not keeping up with the current financial market. Football is heading downhill on a financial front, so be prepared to accept scrap value in the near future.
  5. Yes it is about GB, read the 1st post on this thread. If you want to start a debate about players attitudes, start another thread.
  6. I agree with what your saying about Boyd's attitude. My argument is the fact that Burley dropped him after scoring 7 goals in 7 starts in the first place. Had he been on the pitch instead of an untried Iwelumo the result could have been different. He did the same with Saganoski, he had a really good goals ratio towards the end of the previous season, then in the first game of the new season he scores for us against Palace then he's dropped for weeks on end. When he eventually does give him another chance, Saga returns as a man with drained confidence. This is the point that people are making about Burley, he does the weirdest things then bemoans his luck when it doesn't pay off. The bloke has clearly started to show he has little respect already in Scotland. Boyd and Charlie Nickerlas are only the start, of what is going to be a rough ride for George.
  7. Yeh...the M27 heading west bound.
  8. Lets start nearer to home: Chris Baird played more games for Ireland than he did Saints. Saganoski anyone As for the rest, I could be typing them in all day. Ferreira, Ivanovic, Agger just to name a few. Peter Crouch struggled to get a regular first team slot for Liverpool, yet was playing and scoring for England. As for Boyd, he had scored 7 golas in 14 games for Scotland, until Burley did to him what he did to Saganoski and dropped him for the last 4 or 5 games. Lets face it Burley has lost the plot.
  9. Poor argument, I could rattle off a list of players that can't get a game for their club but play for their country. Why would Owen throw his dummy out ? He lost his place because he is always injured. We all know you can't build a team around a player that is going to miss half the games. But saying that I would still prefer to see Owen instead of Heskey.
  10. 7 goals in 14 games not good enough eh ? Just shows what a waste he was with us.
  11. Can someone enlighten me, has Gadymak (you know who I mean) senior had his bank accounts frozen ? I think I might have heard it somewhere that he had his accounts frozen in Israel due to investigations into money laundering or arms dealings, or something similar. If so that would explain why Gadamanyk junior has not been able to provide further funds for the skates. Lets hope the bubble bursts very soon.
  12. Hate having to admit I read this paper, but in the Sun today Harry quoted the following: 'I have always taken over poor teams and made them better. Bournemouth were in the old fourth division, West Ham were a yo-yo club, Portsmouth were struggling in what is now the Championship and Southampton were on their way down'. Now, which part has Harry got wrong ? At least he has acknowledged he managed us this time.
  13. It would be great if we could survive this and hopefully see the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, West Ham and Poopey amongst others all come crashing down. That part of the recession I will enjoy.
  14. I'm no financial expert, but hasn't the £50 billion pledged by the government, to help banks out, going to remove the likelyhood of this happening ?
  15. I would, if meant a move to a club with better prospects. It would only be short term thing, or else he rots in the stands for the next 20 months without the appearance money anyway.
  16. And why do you think that is ?? I wont go through our injury list, but just have a look at how thin we are as a squad. We have no recognised full backs, so he has to try different options. We have very few centre halves and those we have are injured. We are struggling to find a right winger within our ranks. So yes, he still has to tinker with what he has got. Difference with Burley, he had players for those positions but decided to play them anywhere but.
  17. But the others didn't have this squad, they had premiership quality players.
  18. Ditto. Not a team player, he is the weakest link in the team.
  19. So he wont be selling him then ?
  20. I read pages 9 to 13, for a minute I thought it was a Saints forum. Goes to show that every club in the country has message boards like that after a defeat.
  21. That leaves the ginger one, or our Harley Street MOT man.
  22. Didn't his username use to be lifelong cherry ? Why has he changed it, or have I got that wrong ?
  23. Posted By Long Shot Marc Jackson is almost a Legend these days. Marc Jackson is almost a Legend these days. mmmmmm....
  24. You sounded quite genuine at the start of this thread, now your starting to sound like a few posters from the past that made similar kinds of promises.
  25. I sincerely hope we hear a lot more from you. But unfortunately I fear not.
