  1. Its about time he did.
  2. Good call.
  3. But its not working, so what now ?
  4. Maybe we wouldn't be playing pretty and non productive football, but you can bet your life we would have had a better defence by now.
  5. We were a very poor team before Nigel Pearson took over, you only have to look back to the Bristol Rovers game to see how quickly we were sliding. Then in came NP and stopped a poor run of results with a very low on confidence team to then grind out some hard fought draws, games we would have expected to lose before hand. With our last five games, we had won 2,drawn 2 and lost one. He was only in charge for 12 games (Plymouth game not included) and started to show a big improvement during the second half of his stint. Now compare that to JP who has had more games in charge than Pearson, can anyone see an improvement ? The results would suggest not. I am still believing and hoping that given time JP will turn things around for us as I like the way he plays the game. But I still think those that are anti Nigel Pearson were only prepared to give him 12 games to prove his credentials but are more willing to give JP longer without any statistics to back him up.
  6. Heres the one I was on about. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/Pompey39s-new-stadium-in-doubt.4707545.jp
  7. Are you the Landlord of Waterloo Arms ? Next Tuesday will be standing room only now.
  8. Administration then.
  9. For those with poor eyesight. Watch Pompey?? now your definately on a wind up. Barmy army has given way to barmy ideas.
  10. I would rather see us try to avoid administration at all costs, even if selling our best players, rather than ground share. Pompey are going to struggle a lot more than us in the not to distant future. We will be on the up, while they go the other way.
  11. Which plan is that ? On the front page of the News today, the headline is 'Is the dream over before it begun' or something like that. Basically saying that the proposed stadium to be built in the docks is to be shelved. Something to do with the shopping retail plans affecting the city centre trade. Didn't have time to read the rest of it as I was reading it while buying petrol. Thier failed proposed training ground at Titchfield is still up for sale though. £1.75m if your interested.
  12. John, would you really want to go and watch Saints home games if they were in Fratton ? I think you have spent to much time in that Indian sun.
  13. Where as Jan Portielvet had such great potential that.........oh forgot.
  14. Michael RATHBONE Wilde. Bet he loved having that name passed on to him.
  15. Without Pearce and probably Svennson our defence will have a tough afternoon. I would expect Reading to score 3 or more as I don't think we will have tactics to thwart your attacks. we seem to play the same system regardless. Having said that, our away form has been better and I think we are close to clicking up front. Robertson scored 2 in reserves last night, so he could be the one that springs a surprise result.
  16. The last two games Cork has been turned inside out at right back. He is better as a centre half. Maybe play Gillett at Right back in the reserves first, to see how he copes.
  17. I agree with that Frank C, as soon as my kids are old enough I will be taking them, know what matter what Division we are in or who is chairman ect and hopefully it will be as magical and exciting an experience for them as it was for me when I first went to see Saints during our last spell in this Division.
  18. Can someone explain to me how you can check an IP address on this forum. Not that I don't believe you, just curious.
  19. No to Cureton, would much prefer Saganoski. I wish we had got Lita instead of Robertson and Pekart, with our style of football he would have been the ideal striker.
  20. When you put it like that, fair enough, but only if it really did make a difference and someone genuinly better was waiting in the wings. My feeling is there isn't.
  21. Blimey Nick, we agree on something. But...if we go on a long losing streak, pressure will be mounting from all sides and administration would be the final nail in the coffin.
  22. I was just thinking the same thing.
  23. Good and well thought out response. Nice to see that you know what the alternatives are.
  24. Davis Cork Lancashire Pearce Surman Lallana Schniederlin Euell Skacel Robertson DMG Would have like to have seen White instead of DMG, but he has gone out on loan. Gasmi on bench if fit.
  25. What, even if Simon Gillett scored the winner which guaranteed that he would start the next 10 games ? Only kidding.
