Mentally it will make them stronger knowing they can withstand pressure. Thing is, can we ? -

So do Reading. -
I'm not normaly negative, but today I agree with you Alpine.

Exactly right. Our trophy cabinet is a bit embarrasing.

Sharpe would be my first choice as I think Lee runs around like a headless chicken to much. Lee would be better as an impact sub like De Ridder, when defences are getting tired. Sharpe times and makes more intelligent runs, so if he is not injured, play him.

Chaplow. He drives us forward and exploits the space better.

This. Hammond needs a sat nav to show him which way were playing and Morgan gets a nose bleed if he gets within 20 yards of the goal. Cork to be fair does run at goal and drag opposing players out of position to create gaps.

If ..Pompey go out of the League before May...
slickmick replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
If its true that their running costs are £8.5m a season, £800k over the next four months still wont help them. -
Can someone point me in the right direction of how i could get the highlights (dvd) of this game that was played on the 1st Sept 84. Your help would be much appreciated.

Steve Morans goal at Anfield in a 1 nil win.

Stick me down for another B. Mind you I might regret that if they don't go down.
-
B If we go up because of the extra points we would gain from their demise, we would always have them throw that back at us. Little comfort from their club folding, but something for them to retaliate with. I'd rather they went bust after the seasons end, it will make our last game against Coventry all the more special if they were relegated and waiting for the lights to be turned out.

Coventry need point to stay up and relegate Skates
slickmick replied to Nadia Sllim's topic in The Saints
Firstly, we thump them 5 or 6 nil at St Marys. Then we enter the game against Coventry already crowned as champions. Pompey and Coventy are locked on the same points and same goal difference (due to saints thrashing them). Both Pompey and Coventry are losing 2 v 0, but with minutes left on the clock Coventry pull one back to send Pompey down. Imagine the atmosphere at St Marys after that....sha la la la la. Who can better that ? -
Freemantle is nice, but Perth is all a bit plastic and every street looks the same. Found it a bit souless and boring to be honest, plus the flies are a constant pest. Other than that its ok.
-
In a way I'm glad they only got 10 points deducted. Imagine if they were docked 20 and were as good as relegated by the time we played them, it would have all been about plucky Pompey with no pressure or fear and nothing to lose. But with them still having a chance to survive the fear and pressure will be at bursting point at the prospect of losing to us and being sent down

This in bold was what let him down, other than that he had a good game, but I don't think he gave us enough width, he semed reluctant to make a run into space down the wing. Second part of the second half Lambert was exploiting that space a lot better on a number of occasions.

need to start keeping clean sheets.

63% to Cardiff.
-
Who would make way for him if we did sign him ?
-
Two teams with City in their names have done the double over us this season. Next up is Cardiff City and unless we show more fight and desire to win every battle on the pitch then we are going to have an unwanted hat-trick.

Who is this week's mystery signing?
slickmick replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Got him sussed. Well the week has gone and the 80% certain superstar that was goin blow us away hasn't signed. -

Adkins has said right from the begining that he was looking for several new signings in January. So I think its fair to say that any of us could have predicted that another face will be coming in. -
Can't, someone ate the dog.

While Lamberts out. My mate says Hammond, I think Lallana. Anyone know ?
