I know this site is traditionally very defensive of old Nick, but £650K is an extraordinarily large amount to pay a CEO for a company the size of Saints. If there is a fixed operating budget, which there almost certainly is, paying NC such a vast amount means less to spend on players, which ultimately means less potential for success. I think this was a problem caused when NC took operating control of the company and was allowed to do what he liked within the budget, hence he paid himself a ridiculously large amount.

Stop dragging your knuckles for a minute and consider that less advertising means less revenue for the club, which means less revenue available for the fun bits like buying players etc etc. But your not bothered if the clubs revenues are down from that area of business?

NC's salary is enormous. £650K for a company the size of Saints is breathtaking. Good work fella. -
Defend pedos all you like, but bottom line is Rix is a kiddy fiddler. Fact. And so is Gary Glitter, another of Portsmyths finest.

Personally I don't think Cortese has been particularly good for SFC, but for those that do think he's doing a good job fair enough. But to then sing his name at games is a bit lame, and frankly a little embarrassing. When football fans start to sing the name of a businessman, as did the skates, you know something somewhere is going wrong. Singing about the team unites the fans during a game, singing about a chairmen divides. Not good.

Ditch the white sash kit fast, and lets get back to our traditional red and white stripes. Clubs of substance do significantly change their traditional shirt every other season.

Orient are on a march. We'll get 2nd spot but Bournemouth might loose out a play off place to the Londoners.

Sunderland would be SAFC. Saints are the only SFC.

I trust he paid for his ticket.

I've been there every year for the last 6 years and never seen the 'airport' used before. At least it looks like it works.

Val Thorens is a good shout. I am off to Courchevel myself this Saturday. The advantage of course to the Three Valleys is near guaranteed snow, although off piste is bloody expensive.

Its a pity that rather than sort this in private, NC decides to add to his long list of pointless public disputes. When next will his peculiar brand of management appear?

Putting the local government job "cuts" into perspective

Totally agree. If only the tories and their cheerleaders in the popular press would give as much time to closing tax loopholes for the super rich, many of whom are more than culpable for the financial collapse and cost the honest tax payer like you and I £billions each year; as they do trying to sack public sector workers. -
I think small parties like the BNP etc would get a boost from outright PR, I'm not so sure they will under an AV system. I'll probably vote for it as it's hard to defend a winning MP only getting 32% of the constituency vote as in Watford apparently.

I think the SW 'management' don't want a connection between this game and Ted Bates in case it annoys NC. Such is the power of NC to intimidate some Saints fans into denying their own history.
-
Sounds a great idea to raise money for charity in the name of 'Mr Southampton'. Jumpers for goal posts etc.
-
Oh get over yourself you big girls blouse. It is a good bit of PR for NC whether it was meant to be or not.

Don't understand why a gay couple would want to get married in church, but if they do good luck to 'em. Hopefully there are enough enlightened members of all the main religions to accommodate them.

In this particular episode what came first, the action of NC banning the players attending this function or the story finding it's way to the paper?? This childish behavior is coming from NC first and foremost, and I for one am saddened by the amount of people on here who are prepared to slavishly follow the word of a business man with no previous connection to Saints and possibly with a limited future here, over Saints legends.

Southampton set for £50million takeover bid from Middle East (Daily Mail)

Be fair, you would trust a monkey if it was in charge, just because it was Saints CEO. I think NC promised the new training ground development would be opened lat year!!! -

It's the standard response for many on this site.
