I thought it had been fairly well published that he was open to a move to the premiership, and since we are now the only premier league club with a bid (sizeable at that) on the table...

Saints near the bottom for players signed, any cause to panic?
tomf05 replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Must I stress that this team who need a complete shake up beat us and held us to a draw last season?? I don't believe saints will make anymore signings this window nor do I believe we need many however watching Swansea now says to me we so very much need a goal threat! -
Does that make QPR ambitious, I think it shows the opposite and were hoping to improve our youth and take on te premier league seriously as Southampton making tweaks with players of huge influence in al already good squad where needed
-
I have herd the same with regard to 2/3 and obviously would love damiao would favour him over osvaldo, hard to believe all te rumours but at least it seems NC/MP recognises what most of us think we need
-
Of any of you can bring yourselves to believe Alex Crook then this is what he has just tweeted @alex_crook: As has been mentioned following Nicola Cortese's #ssn interview #saintsfc are looking at bringing in one more player - a striker @alex_crook: #saintsfc say they will not be rushed into making a panic buy and would be willing to start season with current squad Good news the need for a striker has been recognised in my opinion, I'm happy with our team bar the lack of execution in the final third. To be trusted? We shall see...

Wanyama looks fantastic really solid midfield and we looks so controlling, some great pace from chambers and especially isgrove (shame he's gone off) we are by far the more dominant but seem to just die in the final 1/3. There isn't really any danger infront of goal from us, think a really confident striker is key and could change the side as VW and Loren have. Aside from that we still need to work on defending corners. Looking great for PS though -
Isgrove, Turnbull and chambers are also there in numbered kits...glad to see the opportunities available to develop the younger ones and give them a taste of what they can expect
-
Also is it he general assumption that lovers will walk straight into the back four alongside yosh? I don't know much about him so don't know his standard and strengths, but seems we may have a very slow central pairing at the back if this is the case?
-
I don't really get this he only really ever played well and in my opinion was a much greater threat than Ramirez, fast, direct and his long shots actually tested the opposition keeper. Yet my understanding is we're after another winger with pace? I really like punch and think he deserves his shout as more than an unused sub
-
That is rogue, I'd imagine some insane odds on that
-
I agree, I wish I didn't care so much
-
How imminent is this imminent news that has all your knickers in a twist. Or have I now also been sold hook line and sinker...?
-
Like it just don't like the fact Adidas have been very lazy, exactly the same as so many other kits out there!

Chang beer and Everton?

Di Canio not happy with players attitude after Wigan lose to Swansea
tomf05 replied to kpturner's topic in The Saints
On the other hand it would seem poch welcomes news about other teams doing badly and actively keeps his eye on it! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/313988/Southampton-boss-Mauricio-Pochettino-wants-to-leave-last-day-drama-to-Sunderland Which do you think is the better mind set though really, I'd have to say although you can't help but celebrate results like Wigan Swansea they should be relied upon. -
I'm goin for Lallana on the right! Top shirt, not that I'd wear it though
-
Agree with this entirely, it provides back up for both positions and adds a bit of competition which fox does not offer despite starting a couple too many times
-
Never write off Danny Rose, reckon he's got bags of goals in him! However I feel our weakness will be set pieces...as per
-
Larsson limping as he comes off?
-
What the hell can punch have done to be sidelined for Guly?
-
Not sure I can bring myself to watch this one. Maybe if i don't we might win...

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
tomf05 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We didn't turn up bar spider and boruc in my opinion! Have to say want into Swansea game thinking we'd do we'll buy we had no ideas up front and a couple of scary moments at the back apart from The obvious dissalowed goal we were lucky, and today only built upon that. We wernt so much unfortunate as just unorganised and clearly ill disciplined, just desparate really! I still think we will be safe but by no means unbeatable or champions league quality week in week out
