As per last check, they were 2nd or 3rd I believe, so we're on track.

If you rearrange the letters in 'Seager' I believe it spells 'Lambert'.

Fantastic news. This guy is an absolute gem of a striker, and should be going far in his career. Hope he can make it with us.

I'd agree with most of them, although I think De Ridder was a success for us. We only really ever played him as a sub, and he always put in a lot and scored his fair share as well. By your list it doesn't look like you've counted the cost of players as a factor, because by that reckoning I'd say Ramirez is a failure SO FAR, he still has time to improve...
-
On a serious note though, I thought there was a bit of dodgy-ness going on when Yaya spoke to the ref before kick off and then pretty much all decisions went against us... and STILL we mullered the English league champions. Kings on Earth.

Lallana has to be put back in the starting XI every week once he's 100%, otherwise fans are going to start turning against Pochettino if there's any hint we might lose him. Lallana on the left for me, no need for Ramirez, switch between Davis in attacking midfield and Rodriguez as second striker.

I wouldn't want to be the one to have to choose two of our four centre-backs... and I won't judge Forren until I see how he fits into our team, because honestly I was happy with Fonte and Yoshi, and Hooiveld's looking miles better than he was too now.
-
I didn't mean he was literally zero btw, just thought it was a good turn of phrase I honestly agree he'd be first on my teamsheet, closely followed by Rickie and then a bunch of other players (we really are performing at the moment!). That tackle he performed in the second half when he hooked his left leg around one of the City players (can't remember, soz, might've been Aguero/Dzeko) was out of this world. Class CB, and will hopefully have made his position at the back safe, with Fonte, Forren and Hooiveld competing for the other space.

28 April 2012 springs to mind?

Obviously our whole team has been improving steadily since the start of the season, and we're now performing fantastically, but a standout improvement for me is Maya Yoshida. He has turned out to be a great investment. After some shaky starts at the beginning of the season, he has adapted relatively quickly to the Premier League (which, btw, negates any arguments people have for Ramírez still adapting after half a season), and has become an amazingly confident, classy, and competent centre back. Some of the challenges he made against City were phenomenal, both in ability and in decision making. After some of the early games I would wince in fear when the ball came near him, much as I did when Boruc was called upon (he too has grown into a hell of a player). I guess it has a lot to do with the confidence of the team in general, etc., but really Yoshida has grown into a great defender for us. If and when Forren does make his way into the side, I really hope he doesn't replace Yoshida outright, because his minutes in the red shirt have been brilliant over the last couple of months: he hasn't missed a minute of the last 21 games, and obviously recently we've looked world class. A great signing none of us knew a lot about, and definitely worth the money he cost. Started forming great partnerships with Fonte and Hooiveld respectively, and will hopefully work well with the new boy as well, with all four switching around as needed. Keep it up, Maya.

Saint Or Sinner Nicola Cortese Drives Southampton On
Andre replied to Graffito's topic in The Saints
How is he "divisive" if 90% backed him? I get what they mean, but hmm... -
moron. thinks he owns the place. still love the dude.

Football's a massive stage, it's not just about whether the tragedy in question is about football, it's about bringing people together to put some thought into those who lost their lives, and simply show some respect and give some time to the families etc. of the victims. It doesn't need to have anything to do with football, and no there are not too many minutes of silence as there's always something for which it could be done.

so... chaplow > ronaldo?

McDermott and Le Fondre get Manager/player of the month
Andre replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Le Fondre's class. -
Should've just bought someone else who could've started playing straight away. Just give him some game time, it's football for god's sake, not bloody military warfare. JUST KICK THE BALL AROUND FOR 20 MINUTES.
-
Pitiful that they didn't shut up for a minute. For the record it was also for those who died in the Munich Air Disaster, too.
-
The best he'll ever manage is honorary president, and I doubt very much he'll get that now.
-
Matt's messed up here I think. I'm as opposed to some of Cortese's decisions and practices as much as the next guy, but in the end he is in charge of our football club and we're doing better than we have for a while under him. This is clearly a personal battle, and should be dealt with in private; if Matt wants to make the club look bad by trying to bring press heat, then I'd do what Nicola's done and not give him another chance. Case closed, let's move on.

"I am not thinking about Southampton" - nice. It's not like he had a future here anyway. As for Hoskins, above, nothing much yet as he's only played about an hour and a half. No goals yet.
-
And funnily enough our record attendance is against them. Until Saturday/last day of the season, I reckon.

Cork - Schneiderlin partnership, changed under Pocchetino?
Andre replied to Neef's topic in The Saints
Both great players. Played well under Adkins, playing well under MP. Keep it up, boys.
