Still not sure on JWP... looks good and always gets hyped up, but the last 2 seasons he's still failed to really explode and show what we all think he can do... maybe with less competition this'll be his year! Think he needs a bit more confidence, he looked good after a few games in succession early last season, and that goal will do him good because he can definitely strike the ball like few others his age.

My card expired when it was due to auto-renew earlier this month, and for the exact reason post by OP I let it expire. Think it's good of the club to move everything over to YouTube generally, much better experience for all fans as they'll get all content for free, but agree it is annoying for those of us paying. Guess maybe they'll do what they did last season and post a minute or two of highlights plus snippets of interviews which are then available in full on SP, but they might not be able to resist the temptation of getting everything up on YouTube in full to appeal to more fans. Less money though, I guess.

Apparently most of these deals were set in stone when Pochettino left, so I don't think he really had any control over it and knew it would happen all along. Looking forward to some big names in the next 2 weeks.

Chambers is 100% on his way. Schneiderlin is the next one we need to worry about. If we can keep him, that should be it then (unless lower down players leave).

Southampton Football Club appears so unprofessional during these transfers. Club comes along, player says yeah, club just kicks dust around their feet looking shy. Absolute **** take this guy. Thinks he's bigger than both Southampton and Liverpool by first announcing he wanted to leave and now breaking the news before the club has a chance to. More trouble than Dani Osvaldo, ****ing hope we never see him again and José Fonte injures him in the first game of the season!

I'd say Chelsea are probably the best to watch, they have the most silky skills and whatnot. Stoke/Fulham/Palace/West Ham would be my vote for the worst, all terrible.

He's a left winger, pretty creative from the little I've seen of him. Actually looked pretty bright and confident yesterday, got involved near the very end with a couple of desperate moves.

It takes months, if not years, to write and publish a book like this, they cannot simply update it every time someone makes an appearance! It is very up to date anyway, with mid-season players making appearances included, and any info on new players will be online anyway.

My absolute condolences to Sam and his family, and I echo what was said above; I'm sure his father was proud to see Sam make his Premier League debut, score his first goal for Southampton, and it's a tragedy he will not get to see his son grow up to be a class player. RIP.

one of the most ridiculously subjective tables around... it shocks me that it's allowed to contribute to european places with the millions of different opinions you could have... i understand the desire to promote fair play, and i agree with it, but surely this should only be done on the basis of actual measurable things, like cards and overall fouls?

agree with all the praise for lovren, such a good signing in so many ways... one of the best centre-backs around, has one of the best attitudes of any footballer i've seen, rubs off extremely well on the team (e.g. bringing out the best in fonte), and seems to genuinely appreciate and care for the club.
