Haven't been watching Benteke lately but no suggestion whatsoever OsWaldo will get "some goals" anytime in the near future! Then again I prefer relying on tried and tested methods on which you might beg to differ.

Hate to flame the fire but Bazza is, as so often the case, absolutely spot on. £10m+ players better start performing early (i.e. no later than 6 weeks, 6 games at most) as that sort of money is absurd for a professional footballer who needs time to "bed in" wherever they go. Time is money, and the longer these players don't perform for us the more of a loss and a liability they become.

Been saying all season we've been flattering to deceive... really all that has changed since last season is a tighter defence (wanyama + lovren) and Lallana finally starting to perform at the level he's capable of. Other than that, the same problems as last season are quite apparent - failure to play the final ball, too much possession, not enough width, and lack of cutting edge upfront. If you really dissect our results and the goals we've scored you'll find there was a lot of luck involved and we were let off the hook too many times (United, Liverpool come to mind). Same old Saints I guess.

Any idea as to who it might be then?

Do have a couple of scouse mates, but thankfully no family members I know of live in or come from Liverpool. We do seem however to have a telepathic mutual understanding and agree on many Saints related issues.

IMO the first goal was by far the most avoidable, if Boruc had kept his positioning correct. Great keeper and without a doubt best we have, but seriously overrated around here and is directly at fault for 3 or 4 of our goals conceded this season.

I agree with many of Barry's assessments but in this case I'm with you Whitey - top quality player and the finish against Bristol was one not many in our side our capable of.
