I wouldn’t blame him for any goals today but if the club believe in him, then decent goalkeeper coaching is essential. I remember David Seaman being prone to errors but high-end coaching got him to another level. Positioning is coachable, but is critical as you’re in a better place to make saves when needed. Baz can make saves, he can play with his feet which is vital for modern keepers. He just needs focussed coaching on positioning to make an initial difference, then work on the other aspects of the game.

JWP has been a very good player for us, not to the level of others and given a bigger media role as he was the last player from a decent crop of academy players. Same with JWP. The most important thing for a player will be playing at the best level, for the best possible team, for the best possible money, and then where he and his family are happy to go.

Newcastle are a massive amount above us and Tino is a Premier League standard player, purchased by us with the clear and signalled intention that he could move as soon as a better offer came in. No brainer for him, why spend any more time than you need to in the Championship and he was sold the club as the chance to get a quick move. How has this thing about Salish’s attitude being bad developed? Is this something heard or known, or is there another reason for an African player having a bad attitude, say, lazy stereotyping bordering on something more angry?

Some better coaching to develop his end product is needed. He’s still young and has time.

If it is only teams like Fulham interested in JWP, and there is a very good indication that we could return to the prem in one year, then perhaps JWP could stay. If one of the bigger clubs on the verge of doing better like Newcastle come in, then he'd probably not be likely to turn it down. But as others have said, these were also the players that got us relegated so are not that great or strong of character. Shit managers yes, but the team has had a weak mentality for years for whatever reason. That, plus some signings are needed to put quality, and importantly, some grit in this team. It would be great if our better players saw that going up in a year was possible, and wanted to be part of that. Big summer without question.

If any team can, then would you bet against us being the first? Of course it’s unlikely to lose 9 or 10 of the best players but I am anticipating us losing the best of what we have, and will be delighted if they stay.
