Saints 2 - 1 Villa - League Cup R4 - Reaction

The expert opinion is Ronald Koeman. That's the point. Why don't you take it up with him. -
Saints 2 - 1 Villa - League Cup R4 - Reaction

JWP was rubbish...yet people who know infinitely more about football than anybody on here (unless you're a lurker Ronald) keep picking him. Hmmm, who's wrong I wonder. You just have to question the judgment of those experts at the football club who've won numerous major trophies, know what they want players to do during a match but who just don't know as much keyboard warriors -
This statement is no bad thing when it comes to other young players looking at their development pathway

We're just really really ridiculously good looking

The whole competition was an embarrassment to the daily echo, then the city and the fans. -
Maybe, maybe not, but now there is zero chance of laughing at him if we destroyed them, which is a shame

Agreed, worst thing ever introduced to football has been music after goals especially. 100% unnecessary

Hmmmm, very doubtful indeed from what many have heard. There are ways to go about leaving and I think you can read between the lines that he didn't make the best moves. Fonte, Davis and Davis are some of the few left from his time now anyway. He could have been a legend but he opted to become a bit part player.

Thought this was answered but was less football plan but more business to drive revenue to help the football side grow. The club has said European football and trophies are the aim and what they are working towards. Putting a date on winning something in football is largely futile. Let's face it, saying get in the premier league in 5 years is a little more easy to realistically commit to than winning the Champions League.

Always frustrating when we sell out then cock it up. definitely up there with the Europa Cup exit (both legs) and Everton performances for worst for a while and we are only coming up to a quarter of the way through the season. Once again, a lesson needs to be learned

He sleeps with the fishes...football career wise at least

Amazing to think that Steve Davis is almost as good a footballer as he was a snooker player. Steven Davis should try and emulate him
-
Before this all goes mental, take a moment to consider that the more revenue the club has, the easier it is to keep hold of players or at very least be on more of a competitive footing for longer.

What this thread proves is that there is no 'one' golden way to be a football fan, it is multi-faceted. As long as people follow Saints in some form, I see that as a good thing, especially if they buy tickets and merchandise that goes to the pot to help Ronald buy players!

Some people only see what exists already and what others have done before. Some just like to stay still and keep things how they are. Others see opportunities where those who only see what they know do not. These people and organisations are leaders, and maybe the club under Krueger et al have a different approach that those without imagination cannot see yet because no one else has done it.

Koeman will go to Holland soon...to see his friends and family

All I hope is that we get very used to these type of results
-
Not sure but Chelsea do that with many players so perhaps you're right

Yes De Bruyne has played in the CL and Mane will in the future, De Bruyne played for Genk until 2012 so he is not homegrown and who's to say Mane won't be like this all season and be one of the standout performers (in England only those who play for the media favoured teams win POTY, Germans are a bit more open minded). Mane is tearing up defences, he is fast, he's creative, he plays for the team, he is scoring goals. That's a player who commands a very high fee yes?
-
De Bruyne fee has set the benchmark, we are in a good position to fend off any interest so fingers crossed he is a Saint for at least a season and a half allowing us to identify and sign the next player who'll light up the game without anyone else recognising them first.

Post-Match Reaction: Chelsea 1-3 SAINTS
Daft Kerplunk replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
this team is beginning to look alright isn't it. Stek saw off any threats Soares played well against Hazard, Bertrand didn't put a step wrong Van Dijk and Fonte nullified any aerial threat Davis, Wanyama and Ward-Prowse bossed the middle The forward line were swift and direct, and clinical Very good -
Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'
Daft Kerplunk replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Okay...thanks. I do wish I was clever. It is pretty hard being so stupid in a world of intelligent people.
