If the board had properly invested in the team then maybe RK would be facing the chop but let's face it, they've scrimped big time and that's coming home to roost. The decision now for Gareth, Les and co is do they release some funds and truly go and get some players who will make a difference or stick with what we have and risk a further slide followed by an even further slide next season. They have a decision to make and ultimately that is why they are paid big money. It's over to those who control the purse strings to make their play...

Oh sorry for not including those. They should also be included as they are abhorrent

Nothing dimwitted about the post as the sentiment is clear and taking it to the extreme to make a point, the posts that fall into that category are the ones that imply it's a bit of banter. The views of these lads are plain and simply stupid but have a root somewhere far darker that isn't good. To ignore it suggests a slight tolerance of it. I'm glad they have been banned, their actions have no place in an intelligent and tolerant society. Shout and have a go all you want but it would be much better if people could leave race, gender, sexual preference and religion out of it.

Probably good to ignore some of our more less-worldly, and ever so slightly rude fans above. Rumour is more than strong that we will have a different kit make next year so probably best to wait.

It's totally fair. Any player coming through now will have to be of the right standard, or at very least show they have the potential. If they aren't ready for how RK wants them to play, they aren't ready.

Sadio Mane: "I don't want to stay at Southampton
Daft Kerplunk replied to SaintLondon's topic in The Saints
Would it not be better to use £30m to buy 2 £15m players? Anyway, biggest thing we seem to need in the team is some grit and someone who will lead the team. Not that those players are easy to find but apart from a CF to challenge Pelle, this would seem to be the priority signing -
Oh that's ok, imaginary indeed.

Not sure what that point is but that's cool, we can't all understand text sometimes in isolation

Arguably a slightly impossible to prove statement. Imagine what could have been achieved with a bit of stability, players staying and quality added. Things are currently not great, stability in the playing squad could arguably have meant better and stronger team spirit plus continuing to compete for a top 6 place at very least.

?que? And if you get what I meant, the message probably wasn't for you

So Gray didn't sign for us but how does anyone here know if he wasn't on the radar of our scouting team, or indeed if we actually wanted him to sign and he chose Leicester. Whilst I am not exactly delighted with our recent transfer activity, it is pretty easy to come to the conclusion that we might have been interested in/bid on a player who chooses somewhere else. More concerning would be that if we did actually offer, he sees Leicester as a better place to go and play as we should be top of that list given what our more recent (last 3-4 years) activity in the market, and approach to playing English players has been.

Do nothing is clearly the best option here

4 chaps going out for a beer after a day at work. Nothing to see here I should imagine

Mane is as good as gone I reckon. Scum Man Utd have probably done their deed and the agent and player will do the rest. We then just need to absolutely rip as much money from Utd as possible.

If we are not in a relegation battle, we are far too bloody close for comfort, and the Arsenal result aside, we are being sucked in rapidly, and that is actually not good enough for the potential we have had over the last few years. If we hadn't had a peek at what could be possible then I doubt anyone would be as worried about relegation but you can't remove the opportunity we have had to maintain our progress as if it never happened. We are struggling, and as long as those who can help RK know this, then we can hopefully get back on track, and rebuild in the summer. Again!

BP = Bradley (Wright) Phillips

Decent piece on the Echo drawing parallels with where we are and where we were in 2003. Doesn't mention that after we missed the opportunity to develop, we got relegated not long after but let's hope that is one similarity too far and we actually avoid it by building seriously now and becoming less of a 'showcase' club and more of a team with players who want to be here for the long term. http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14172280.COMMENT__Are_Saints_at_a_crossroads_/?ref=mr&lp=4

Sam Byram seems like the right sort of deal for us
-
Victor played well against Arsenal but they are one of the teams he wants to go to. He will go in the summer, who he goes to depends on how well he plays for the rest of the season but he's already auditioned well for his 'probable' preferred choice.

We might lose due to loose defending or finishing

Another assist, another nail in the coffin for this daft thread

CONFIRMED: Saints sign Juanmi on four-year deal
Daft Kerplunk replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Hardly, Ramirez was a big marquee signing made by Cortese. Juanmi is a squad member -
...not fit enough to play 90 minutes ? ...or ?
Daft Kerplunk replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
This is totally relevant but unfortunately not everyone can distinguish between the levels of energy used at different levels of football. -
Jesus, does there need to be two threads where some fans continue to moan about the fee paid for Shane Long?
