  1. With cheaper season tickets like WHU we'd easily fill a 45k stadium every week. More families could afford to bring their kids More young people could afford it Older folk might be able to make it work It wouldn't be such a big decision as it is now. Any argument about not filling it is closely linked to the cost of attending, not the size of the fanbase. Come on saints, be brave, make a difference and get more people in and get the next generations involved as well by making it financially easier for them to be at each match.
  2. We should definitely look to add many more seats (15k great but definitely extend the Kingsland upwards by as much as possible) and add more capacity to the footbridge but other than that, finding a solution to us needing a full end of loud fans, the frankly s£$t PA system (it would surprise people how much this would probably cost though) and also more sales points at half time for food and drinks would be my main things to invest some time, thought and money in.
  3. I can't help but think of what Guan 2.0 posted the other day about Ronald not being happy about a meeting with the board when things weren't going so well in the middle part of the season, and then how the club might be looking to go in a different direction followed by the tease that K Billy might know more. Although Les at the player awards (see the clip) said he hoped for a quieter summer, he also wasn't exactly lauding Ronald in the same way he did with Poch the other day in the 'media'. I know people don't want to believe the media but the sheer volume of coverage about this suggests there may be something in it and maybe the leadership at the club isn't worried because it has other plans and Ronald knows he's on his way out. It seems we could do with employing a PR company though to make sure the press see us more favourably than a plucky little south coast club ripe for being picked all the time.
  4. Clearly there is a sense that it needs to be said though. I'm quite happy for this to be said. It's an emotional business after all.
  5. Barcelona are close and have pretty much achieved this in recent years. It's a long term goal though, definitely not easy and if we hadn't been pilfered then we'd be achieving it now.
  6. A totally different scenario with Cortese probably getting to the players before the new leadership had a chance/them also being slightly naive in the early days after Cortese left, their ambitions to move on anyway and then Poch leaving before they knew who the new manager was. You can see in the delight on RKs face that this deal is a massive step in the right direction. VVD is the type of player we should be building a team around, and he's ours for many more years yet with this deal.
  7. I kind of understand what you're saying but Leicester have just won the league so have very much leapfrogged our entire history so far if football history is judged on trophies won. West Ham will not find it that easy but have the appeal to players (and agents) of playing in a new larger stadium and being in London.
  8. As others have said, they are in a very different position, and the team spirit is clearly very strong. Plus, Leicester are going to add more capacity to their stadium so they are already preparing for what the club clearly see as a brighter future for them.
  9. Yes it is, but thankfully the club weren't celebrating it, just commemorating it. It would be lovey to win a cup, and more.
  10. I believe you are totally missing my point. It's not about Leicester having a dream, it's about us and the fact that many dullards think we shouldn't, and we should be happy that we have avoided relegation.
  11. So we are all but guaranteed a finish no lower than 8th due to Chelsea's result last night. We are establishing ourselves as a top 8 club, now it's time to move on next season, as well as winning our last two games and seeing where we end up this season. I want that feeling Leicester have this morning, and I think, and although risk averse accountant types might disagree, to dream feels okay.
  12. Whilst the big teams buy stars, Leicester built a team. Congratulations to them and let's hope we follow them to success very soon.
  13. Nope, it was easy to see he was an asset to the team. If you know what makes a good player of course.
  14. Some loose defending but we put their backs under so much pressure that they couldn't settle and get their midfielders in decent positions to move forward that often. The best thing about the way we are playing is that there is an enthusiasm and confidence in the team that is impressive for the end of the season. Bodes well if we can keep this squad intact where we want to and add for next season's campaign and genuine European push.
  15. Still the daftest post topic of the season by a country mile. It's very easy to question the judgment of people who supported this notion.
  16. Frank Lampard is absolutely not the player we need but we could do with more goals from midfield. RK has said that midfielders need to contribute goals in decent numbers so you can imagine someone like that is on his wish list for Les and the rest of the board etc. to go and get in the summer. Not that there are many obvious players around of course. But then Alli wasn't obvious before this season so hopefully the black box will come up trumps.
  17. Where did I suggest the board had dropped the ball? I was merely saying that to move on to another level, we need better players, Ronald would know that and if the board's ambition is to move on, they'll know it too.
  18. The key thing here is action. If there is a five year plan that sounds ambitious, it needs to be backed up with actions such as not letting any of our best players go this summer, and getting even better new players in. If this doesn't happen, Ronald will know that there isn't really the genuine possibility of the strategy working. He knows good players and he knows that to move on, the team needs more improvement. The good news is that if there is a strategy, the people who are the current stewards of our club will also know this and be prepared to back it.
  19. There are worrying opinions here on what coach/manager would work for us. We need to either keep Ronald or get a coach with dynamic ideas who wants to coach and develop players like Poch. One thing is for sure and that is if Ronald does leave, we should be able to get some of the best managers in the business outside the 'big' names attracted to work here, especially with the increase in revenue compared to other leagues and clubs.
  20. Highly unlikely
  21. We play best when Steven Davis plays best
  22. So basically, we will start seeing the rewards from Les' direction and leadership soon.
  23. Pretty sure we've finished in the top ten 3 times before, obviously before the Premier league when believe it or not, football did exist. Anyway, 8th is not to be sniffed at given that we have been inconsistent this year and were well off form for a couple of months.
  24. I mentioned what is happening at Spurs, therefore...have a think about what I meant.
  25. Are you seriously asking for people's thoughts on Shane Long? Seriously after how many f$$$$$g stupid posts about him!
