  1. Looks very promising. Let’s hope he follows in the footsteps of previous Toulon Tournament top scorers like Thierry Henry, Jean-Pierre Papin, Alan Shearer and so on.
  2. We will see how Ralph does this year because it’s been getting progressively worse with him in charge. Fingers crossed better coaches will have fill in the man management gap in Ralph’s skills, and stop him being so erratic or trying to be too clever. He ends up looking stupid most of the time when he does that. As for goals, it would be a very tough season ahead with the current strike force. Almost certainly relegation or very close to…but it seems that we are going to invest in a decent strike force. Needs to happen, and really should happen in the next week. It is not nearly enough yet.
  3. Total [shit] football. Also, if we are having the same amount of pre-season games as in previous years, but playing experimental sides, when do the first team players get match fit for the start of the season?
  4. Most of the players we have signed are those that none of us really know about, let alone others. Whilst excited by some of the talent we’ve signed, from what we really know, we are still quality players short of being good enough to avoid a relegation battle. The potential might turn into excellence 😆 but we could use a bit of excellence now to make avoiding relegation an easy expectation.
  5. Agreed. Most MLS teams would probably struggle in League One, and the better teams are barely championship level. If someone was banging 40 or more in from all over the place and showing they can shoot early, utterly dominate and be totally unplayable then they’d be worth a look.
  6. I think there’s something there with Diallo although he’s obviously running out of time to prove it, and might benefit from a move to a team where the player in his most obvious position is the first name on the team sheet. In a 5 sub future, the more first team ready players we have, the better. I’d personally see him ahead of the likes of Djneppo, Redmond and Walcott who for the most part sadly offer very little.
  7. Could be a bloodbath on Friday with England v Norn Iron. Friday Bloody Friday.
  8. Can’t disagree but I reckon they’ll be happy to know they have got the players that far…if they make it of course 😎
  9. Paying players (and parents) is something we would struggle to compete with but coaches, not so. There is no reason why we can’t attract the best youth coaches, we just have to be willing to do so. Facilities, similar but ours are good enough for what is needed.
  10. It’s definitely positive. Some of these signings are so young that they will be up and down though. They should get there though so this season will be one of them learning the ropes unless they really are just ready and are future superstars. Another AM and a CF still needed.
  11. Some pretty shocking defending on display but he is confident with shooting and we don’t have many players who offer that.
  12. that’s easy as we were all at home 😎
  13. It’s lovely to see. Am I interested? No, but nowt wrong with it being available for those who will enjoy it.
  14. We appear to finally be doing things properly 👍🏼
  15. Second touch is a tackle
  16. Oh yes. Lots of good suggestions here. I’d raise you to a Pony but been there, done that.
  17. Not British Knights as he’s Belgian
  18. Drugs have been influential in many of the best creative elements of our world so let’s leave the drugs out of this 😎 if anything, it’s the design of someone who wishes they were on drugs but can’t because they do inebriation tests at an outdated workplace.
  19. The ‘brave’ nonsense is such bullshit. It’s a football shirt FFS, not doing something that is facing danger, pain or showing courage without fear. Of this is being brave, then the club is actually a bunch of lightweight scaredy cats.
  20. The word you’re looking for is ‘brave’ 🤣
  21. Interesting group. Nobody with high level playing experience to have that knowledge and insight to help players. I would have thought someone like James Beattie who’s doing well as a coach would’ve been on a list to have in. Especially as he might have been able to help the forwards! Anyway, definitely no more excuses for Ralph if he has selected this group.
  22. If the club has lost money on this, it raises questions on the viability and suitability of Tim Greenwell, the director of legal and risk. Surely the due diligence should have identified the contractor as a potentially risky option?
  23. If he’s as good as people are saying, then the club should be offering a similar deal plus a clear route to the first team. At least the latter as Newcastle won’t be able to compete with that unless they are taking a different approach than the one people expect. Would be far more intelligent not to spunk tonnes on older talent and build with youth. Not much point in the academy if we lose the talent we have actually developed and just buy it in. Brentford model anyone?
  24. So if Lavia signs, maybe Cowill too, then we need an AM (or two) and a CF. Quality experience would be useful to help the young lads along, preferably someone who’s done something decent in their career but players tend to stay fitter longer now and squads are bigger. The days of Case, Mills, Richardson etc. joining are days gone by, but we some mine who can get the players fired up and staying the course would be useful. VVD is the last player that did this for us so age isn’t the key.
