I knew the word, and I can also spell lose correctly.

I take it you mean 4 opposition players in our penalty box? 4 opposition players in our half isn’t a problem to overcome for even the least technical pros) The really stupid thing happening at the moment at the moment is that we are passing in to congested areas central and close to our goal. No problem playing it out from the back if the distances are correct or the direction of the pass is right, but we are just too tight and closely marked in the wrong areas, and the opposition is pouncing to take advantage frequently when we lose possession or have a brain fart, lose concentration or play it too short or mishit a pass. Opposition teams must love playing against us right now.

And if we’d been better run by people who didn’t fancy themselves too much (see the Southampton Way and Teachers of Football bollocks to Rasmus’ self love), Dortmund would’ve been the model, and still is a great model, to attempt to recreate. We of course wouldn’t achieve such high league positions but we’d be competitive. We are driven by money, Dortmund are motivated by putting the best team out on the pitch and developing the best players to make it happen, mixed with experienced heads. They also have very strong links with their fans. No reinventing or breaking things, just make good football teams with good players to play in them. Then put good mangers/head coaches or whatever to get the best results with the players available. Really flipping simple.

For all the confidence that some have that we'd be fine if we went down, getting relegated as terribly as we are destined to if we carry on the pathetic football style (no excuses, the way we play out into congested areas is stupid and not 'brave'), it would be further proof that SR are really not great at the leading/managing a football team bit. Imagine the scar tissue of being on the lowest ever points total in PL history. So far, they are not proving to be trusted custodians of this football club. They may get a few decent player trades from it when Dibling and Fernandes leave for better clubs but from what I've heard from some people at the club, it is hardly being run as a beacon of brilliance. The shitness of the Semmens/Gao/K. Liebherr era has just been replaced by the shitness of the new era. For some reason, Saints just never get a break when it comes to decent owners and management who can do it for a sustained period. We should be far better operated and not be a basket case but many fans seem okay with being fed shite. Unless RM has some change of heart and concedes that losing possession away from the goal mouth but being organised for 6 minutes or more is better than playing straight into the areas where opposition players will just wait for us to make an inevitable mistake and take advantage, we are screwed, and the impact will be lasting.

Worst ref performances involving Saints
Daft Kerplunk replied to warsash saint's topic in The Saints
What this shows is that refs have biases and will be affected by media coverage, especially if the Sky-favoured teams. They are only human, but there are mistakes that just don’t make sense, and with VAR too like against Wolves. -
Scar tissue and Rasmus being key to Brentford’s success suggests a lovely interaction between the journalist and Saints PR guru Jordan Sibley. If the journo did additional fact finding they’d see that Brentford have done better since Rasmus left. Scar tissue is pure Russ.

Unlike many/most other sports, football is a game where a team can still win despite being crap. Or as the case, mostly just boring to watch. Grateful for a win but under no illusions that much more is needed to have any chance of staying up.

Corrected it there as Semmens needs to be in there. He engineered the sales to Gao and SR, and was very much driving the wheel and the vehicle straight into the ditch. Kat as well who wanted as much money as possible out of it all.

And all on the club credit card no doubt 👀

It’ll be like the love child of Anne Widdecombe and Nigel Farage. Fugly and horrid.

Roger Milford. Terrible that night against Oldham. -
It cannot be seen where Russ is going to get it right at this level. Ref was incredibly poor and seemingly bias but Martin has made some shocking substitutions and after conceding from a corner in a similar way previously, has either not prepared the players properly or they don’t listen to what he is saying. We also have some shocking players for this level, which is the result of years of bad transfer management of this football club. Sad to say it, but a change is needed unless the board doesn’t care if we are relegated. We are on for the worst ever Premier League total.
-
Even if the ref has been very questionable, from 2-0 up at home, we should not be drawing or losing this match. Bad substitutions. Not set up properly in the second half.
-
Agreed. Genuinely questionable

Saints academy ran a tournament for biological age kids about 8 or so years ago. Enabled the small kids to get a chance and forced the big kids to use skill instead of force.

Patrick Mahomes is a decent quarterback so probably quite comfortable there.

Probably Bo Diddly Squat instead

I know some like numbers to prove things but a bit of football knowledge also shows that we don’t have the fire power to score enough goals.

Sums it up for me. I want to see the team I’ve supported for 40+ years win the title, be Champions of Europe etc. That doesn’t mean I don’t understand that we will be shit some/most of the time. I still want the best though and I’m not sure it makes me less of Saints fan because I don’t accept mediocrity. Delusional yes, optimistic that it may one day happen, yes. Expectant, no. Comfortable with calling the team and manager out for being pricks. Yes. But always a Saints fan. Absofuckinglutely. COYR

When Lallana is tired, move Fernandes back and replace with Cornet. The good thing about Lallana in the starting line up is a player with strong premier league experience.

Surely all that needs to be said on this is 'it has been two games'. It'll take awhile for people to get used to it and make something of it but it has the potential to be far better than it was before. `A good side effect might be that the Chapel and Northam decide to also get involved in making noise now the away fans are near them. It takes us all but it ain't gonna happen if everyone's moaning about it.

Golf is a very low impact sport relative to football. No running so no additional load on the body. Nobody tackling you whilst you take a swing. No sustained sprints. No moving at speed on your legs in different directions. A 70 year old can play golf but not competitive football. Ross can play golf as much as he likes and in no way would it suggest anything out of the ordinary.

=sum(xg*6) for that splendid excel/new football speak comedy

I highly doubt this would distract him, might even fire him up more. Like most managers and players, he was probably shagging members of the marketing or team staff too, getting your end away is hardly going to distract you from what is a reasonably uncomplicated job. Even NASA pilots and technicians probably have sex. We British do have a weird relationship with sex and the idea of it.
