Football writing in the close season is the easiest job in the world. You can literally make up anything you want with no consequences. According to https://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/sources/newspapers The Scum has a 20% accuracy rating.. I think if the Ayew story is any evidence of their usual quality, then 20% is very generous.

I doubt they'd put out official press releases and what not for a 'prank'.
-
What are the questions and how have they been asked to the club?
-
Jeez, it's like some sort of working man's club in here. What time is the stripper on?
-
Thought he had a good game yesterday. He'll get caught out now and then, but that's the way the team plays now. Lots of commitment to attacks, followed by crazed backtracking to defend after someone needlessly gives up possession.

Hoping for the first win I've seen away from St Mary's at the 7th attempt. The best I've had before is a pre-season draw at Brentford
-
This is the Internet ffs. There is no way anyone will acknowledge that they may have been wrong in something they said.

Great game and unlucky to come out of it without a point. The goals conceded didn’t come as a result of an awful individual mistake (well, aprt from the linesman) so we can take pride in that.

Callum Slattery - Official: Signs for Motherwell

Don't forget Kevin Keegan in Ing's place. And I always preferred Flowers instead of McCarthy. No idea why we let him go. -
I hope the 'promise to purchase' had a suitable sick note clause in it.

Good.

I don’t have to suggest that he’s behind valery, the manager has shown that very thing.
-
I don’t get this mild panic about losing a bit part player. RH has been quite clear from the start that he wants a smaller squad and they won’t buy for the sake of it. There is no reason to get anyone in unless they are first choice starters, which isn’t gonna be cheap in Jan, so unless there is a desperate need then they are better off holding back and going full tilt in the summer.

In Ralph we trust. He wants fewer players in his squad and he wants to spend time with players who are gonna be around for a bit. Lots of deadwood gone already and hopefully more to come to free up space and wages for young, hungry talent.

Saints vs Derby - FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Thread
SaintMB replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
No, no I did not see it the same way. Moi was utter rubbish. He consistently made the wrong decision, could not hold onto the ball or beat a man. He offered nothing and wasted what must surely be his last chance at making it at this level. -
Positives: Redmond and the kids. Negatives: Everything else.

Derby v Saints (FA Cup - 3rd Round) Build Up and match thread

If this match is going to help guide the Jan shopping list, we need lots of new players. Some awful performances. -
£15m for 2 goals in 62 apps. Jordan Ibe, the last unwanted Liverpool attacker Bompey bought.
-
I imagine he'll get a chance during pre-season, like all our players.
-
Gabbi going will have no impact on us having someone regularly scoring goals, apart from maybe freeing up wages to bring one in.
-
What’s Cuco up to these days?
-
His assessments maybe honest, but even honest people can get things wrong. I mean, Ralph is no better than Pellegrino. Jeez, that alone should be a sign that he’s not a very good judge of the situation.

Chelsea FA cup semi final.

Most (if not all) players that come through the academy are going to take time to settle. Nobody should expect an instant "looks like they've been playing at the highest level for years" impact from them. That's the price you pay for having that connection to the youth teams. It's a price worth paying, imo.

The best thing about Owen doing this, is the ruddy cheeked reactions from those who see it as a personal slight and feel the need to berate/insult him. It's not for me Own, but good luck on your continued home and away support for the team!
