  1. Nope you'r right I didnt go, couldn't get a ticket in our end and didn't much want to sit in the home end with my spurs supporting friends, though I did watch the entirety of the game, thanks. I think we showed plenty today, agreed, but feel we should have had more from a few of our recent games with last week being abysmal. My opnion remains that i'd prefer to have Adkins giving the teamtalks. It's his team and he's proven he had it in him to get the lads going for important games. Pochettino may well become world class but the risk is, albeit a slim one for sure, we lose out before he gets a chance to make his mark.
  2. Errr we're a newly promoted side, what did you expect?!? Besides Swansea, Norwich and Spurs today we were v unlucky not to come away with more than we got dont you think? I know points make prizes but we've shown enough this season to think we'l take a point from either sunderland or stoke, or do you diasgree?
  3. House on fire. Sitting on the maginot line. Everyones asleep. Or we had a bad day at the office against wba and were unlucky today and are only one win from safety ... worry, of course, but jesus some people ...!
  4. Bit of context on this one. Pochettino was asked about quotes for us challenging for european places in the future, say three years i think, he said no reason not to aim there next season. No harm in that being our aim. Wouldn't be happy with him saying "17th" next year, that's the aim." even if he thinks it. Provided we stay up anywhere around mid table and not having such a end of season panic would be considered progress really but top half of the table, not too unrealistic ..
  5. Football easier on the eye, sure. Long term does he look the man to take us forward, perhaps. No harm though in speculating Adkins may have had us a little more up for the fight. Im not going off on a deluded rant but I just would have been more comfortable going into our last two games knowing it was Adkins giving the team talks.
  6. Would we have begged for it after Chelsea? Ok im playing devils advocate here becuase its all whats ifs, we genuinely dont know IF Adkins would have done better. But I think its fair the decision isnt looking like a master stroke in the short term at least.
  7. He has missed the odd chance and im still not sure how much longer i'd like to see him on the team sheet but, for the rest of this season at least, he certainly can still do a job and surely has a point to prove
  8. I wont go into the MP or NA debate, love NA but it is what it is. I think Poch has been a little unlucky, think swansea or today. It's how we respond that counts. I thought we looked much better then against wba and hopefully, up at sunderland, we can put in a similar performance and get a result.
  9. I think it's different if its at sms and he runs to celebrate in front of our fans, thats a bit tasteless or if it was last the of the season and it sent us down etc. But WHL ok, he's their player now, much as we may wish otherwise. Cant be too bitter
  10. Agree, hope he's fit for sunderland. If he plays like that he'l be a real asset.
  11. Puncheon had been up all night awaiting the birth of his baby daughter hence not starting, albeit it would've likely been Guly on the bench had Poch thought Puncheon was ready to play a full ninety.
  12. Wow, good to see you'r calm and balanced on this one ... Let's not let facts get in the way of a good opinion I dont think we're likely to agree much on this but will you not concede the chance he created for himself with the clever flick over Vertonghen was rather good ...?
  13. Im not complacent just realistic. If you've seen my posts i've said its not over till its over. Maginot line, really? Are you suggesting Stoke are going to invade via a neutral country ...? Bizarre.
  14. Change your tune lad. A broken clock is right twice a day. I dont think anybody delcared we had stayed up and could stop turning up to game. The odds were with us, and still are. There is only one spot and plenty of teams who will be more concerned than us!
  15. Keep banging that drum ... Lallana actually was one of the most creative players on the pitch today. Commentators said it, my spurs supporting mate at the game said it ... had the ball have dropped kindly for him after his flick over Vertonghen it would have been a fantastic goal.
  16. Agree for the most part though i'd be tempted to give lallana a six, caused some problems and offered something just still needs to find his shooting boots, his touch over vertonghen was genuinely le tiss esque the finish however was far from. Davis, Fonte or Clyne for motm. All played their part and looked positive apart from Clyne's miss. Sentiment says Fonte as it was great to see him back and proving the doubters but I think it has to be Davis for stepping into a midfield without Morgan. Special mention to Guly, looked lively, few good ideas and touches almost created ur best chances and was not afraid to get stuck in. Would love to see him get another crack against sunderland if im honest with Punch out of favour and ramirez out.
  17. Steve Mac said it on espn and im inclined to agree, shaw was inevitably going to be beaten for pace at least once by bale, he made it difficult for him but there was no second man. Mayuka was close by but stopped running whereas Rodriguez HAD been getting back and getting a foot in. Am I worried? Damned right! However if we play like that against sunderland and stoke with morgan back to pick out a few more of the runs we should be ok!
  18. I'd fancy the london mob are about as close by train as well
  19. It would be nice but hopefully he can come the start of next season. The translated interviews are understandable but not ideal, the football focus piece would have been much better with some back and forth, one thing they used to do very well back on the football league show.
  20. I'd like leicester but i'd take hull. Watford is an iffy set up, respect for zola but really not keen on the dodgy loan set up, just doesnt seem fair. Brighton, as much as a short away trip would be nice, Poyet and their fans are far too big for their boots. Don't say Derby, you'l give their fans bournemouth like delusions Palace good young side fair enough, holloway is interesting, but he's still bitter about us and you can bet when/if we play them he'l hype up how "disrespectful" 'orrible southampton are! Hull I have little opinion on, happy enough to see them in the prem again. Leicester, all about NP. He was cracking when he was here and a great character. Good luck to them
  21. Can we just delay this game till morgans back? I know im in the NA should've stayed crowd but I think ive been fair on Poch but todays selection is bizarre! Genuinely think we could be on for another spanking today.
  22. They didnt bang on. They said the football community were shocked with NA being sacked, true? He was unlucky to lose his job, true? Savage's opinion, we'd have stayed up with NA, he's allowed to have that opinion and I agree with it. They spoke about what Poch has introduced to our game, mentioned january window. Was in interesting piece but would be great to have him on answering questions off the cuff when he's more comfortable with his english.
  23. Start looking through about ten minutes before kick off, some will start well then cut out so be patient firstrow and wizwig are always the best places to start but eplsite aint bad either!
  24. They've got a deal lined up for Van Wolfswinkel from sporting. Though they're not exactly a side filled with goals and both would be nice I dont think they could afford, would want, to big money strikers in one season.
  25. Apologies to the "this does not deserve a new thread folk" but I came across this, via an article that linked to a twitter account that linked to this ..., on ticket prices and found it a very interesting statement. Obviously if the mods feel this would be better elsewhere feel free to move, promise I wont be deeply hurt I've posted a link below but will write it out anyway for ease of access. "We could charge more than £104. “Let’s say we charged £300. We’d get £2m more in income but what’s £2m to us? In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for five minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk. Football has got to be for everybody. That’s the biggest difference between us and England." Uli Hoeneß, Bayern Munich president, discussing the club’s affordable ticket pricing plan - 120 Euros for a terrace season ticket. One third (12,500) of the club’s season tickets are at this price. http://twitpic.com/cnemcm Anyway in all our usual talk about expansions and pricing etc etc I think it adds some interesting perspective and would be fantastic to see clubs in the epl take a similar approach.
