Club ambassador? Working with saints in the community? Role with the academy? Scouting? Sure their is a role for a long-serving club captain and model pro, he is the sort of person we should be trying to keep as a part of the club if we can even if his playing days are winding down.
-
Boll*cks. He doesn't appeal, or throw himself to the ground. A player can go down without it being either a dive or pen. Fazio takes the ball (fair tackle) but in doing so takes Mane off balance and, as a lightweight player, he goes down.
-
He has had a decent season though I have only seen patches of Leeds. Byram, a forum favourite, would be a real bonus in a double deal if we could get a decent price.
-
I would suggest that there is a whole stack of evidence already in place for them in regards to our credentials of developing, and giving chances to, younger players. We have serious precedent as a club and the first team is making positive strides in the right direction. If he/his advisers cannot see the advantages of staying here it would be because they simply don't want to or have other ideas about what is important for the lad ...

Why only six subs? I know we are short of options but surely it makes sense to have another on the bench even if unlikely to be called on?
-
Groningen fans but had a Feyenoord flag. Got out a trumpet at the end,few of their own songs, but the chap had a go at "when the saints" and it was really well received.

In theory we are but we have yet to pay for either Bertrand or, if we can, Toby. Both of whom I see as more of a priority than another striker. If Rodriquez comes back ok we will have him, Long, Gallagher able to play through the middle with the added possibility of pushing Mane central or even looking at the likes of Seager in the academy. Failing that Ings on a free in the summer? Short of finding the 'right' deal for another player on loan I honestly think we are best sitting tight until the summer. I get the 'best chance for fourth' argument but just don't see the same urgency as others perhaps ...
-
Fair but if you believe the press he wants to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool. Can't see him making such a quick turnaround.
-
Err no. Not the keep us top of the league. Top four though, I think we have enough in our squad. Besides look how we set up. We do not rely on a striker for all our goals. He works as a pivot bringing others into play. We are not City. We're not Chelsea. We're not even Liverpool! We can't just throw money at problems.
-
Another striker who will fit our system, be happy to share games, score for fun, adapt to the league, want to play for us and not break the bank. Yeah think we may struggle with that one ... Yes our reliance on Graziano is not ideal but crikey, as others have pointed out things are going well enough so far! We also have Gallagher and Rodriguez working back into contention.

All we need is an MLG moment to confirm this

Fair enough. Personally don't rate Naughton, often goes missing. May be able to get more out of him then Spurs have though
-
I disagree. Not keen with his ex skate connections but looks a decent player at an age where he could develop further. Not exactly the signing to get pulses racing and I would rather see squad depth come from the academy but I would not be unhappy should we sign him.
-
It is rather nice. I think their is some realism that we may see better players continue to leave in the future but it is nice to see the things settled.
-
I think there was a suggestion that he very much agitated for the move which, so early into his career with us and considering what was going on at the club, struck a nerve with a fair few fans.
-
I think Pelle is worth a shout. He came in under enormous pressure and has been a massive part of how we play!
-
And our top scorer from last season is a long-term absentee often overlooked ...
-
Small margins though ... he was inches away from getting two or even three goals. If he has he would have been a hero. I agree with the sentiment that a goal may give him a touch more of his early confidence back but he's still playing well and his hold up/linking play is crucial to us just like Lambert last season.
-
Think Roko saying he was interested was more of a general comment. If he was asked if we were interested in Bale would he say no? Course not! Realistically any deal would be a long shot but stranger things have happened.
-
Wow. Another very poor goal to concede.
-
Can't hurt. A lot of his critics have suggested he is not physical enough to play in the engine room, hopefully he can add a bit of that to his game.
-
Shame for Hesketh, glad to see JWP back on at least. Looks like he has bulked out a little, been to the gym with Wanayama?
-
What can be added? Not clinical enough, few players not at their best, two soft goals, link-up play not at last years standards ... bench not exactly filled with options. Stuff we all know. We were the better side, could and should have won, and are still sitting 5th with some of the more difficult games out of the way. Glad to see Pelle back looking more like himself, Burnley will be a test but I hope we have enough to win. PS nice to see Hesketh make a debut, looked okay. Always delighted to see another one starting to come through, genuinely makes our club special!
-
He was poor but crikey some people! How long has he been with us? Has his dip not coincided with a general downturn and some tricky opponents? His link up play was not good enough but people forget last season's front three telepathy was built over time - we can't expect that right away from our new look attack. Either way who would people rather see play? We are not blessed with proven options.
-
Can't help but feel we look a little unbalanced lining up like this. Would rather see 2 of Tadic, Mane and Long alongside Pelle with another 'proper' midfielder in the middle.
