  1. I'm not too fussed about the league cup... Happy to give some of the youngsters like Targett and Reed a run out... would also be good to give game time for Gardos and Mane... I value the FA cup much higher and would like us to play a strong team in that competition... I would actually be happy to scrap the League cup.. its Mickey Mouse... by losing the League cup it would also give much more importance to the FA cup.
  2. I know Gaston has flattered to deceive but I would still love him at the club... I reckon he needs to be told he's starting at 10 and a gentle arm around him... ...unfortunately I just don't think that we can offer him that certainty of a starting spot.. especially with Mane coming in and hopefully JRod coming back at some point....
  3. Capel linked again in the Star... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/397201/Southampton-eye-loan-move-for-former-Barcelona-winger
  4. I have a funny feeling that we may win today... Lots of people are writing us off but i think that we may end our terrible recent record at the Boleyn Ground...
  5. Nothing to see hear. I find it hard to believe any saints fans could be upset with that interview. Rickie = Saints Legend.

  7. Yeah, I was there as well... a mate got 4 tickets from work so we had 3 saints fans and a QPR fan there... Free buffet for in the Under the Bridge restaurant was pretty decent as were the free beer.. The clientele did appear to be 50% foreign in there and quite a few neutrals and people just there for the free corporate jolly... Kept quiet when saints scored but found it hard to bite my tongue at some points during the game.. Gutted when the chelsea goals went in second half....
  8. I thought that Lawro's scores weren't too far out.... I would have probably given Lallana a 6 but although he worked hard and showed some nice touches he didn't create much in the end and can see why some may think he was only worth a 5... I think its far too early to predict who will be on the plane at this stage... there is bound to be injuries and losses of form... will just have to wait and see..
  9. Turkish has just been owned!
  10. Walcott had pretty much the same amount of goals and assists as Bale last year, so yes he really is a sh1t player... absolutely clueless..
  11. Cheers - still not working unfortunately.. I recently updated the operating system on my mac so I reckon that may be the problem...
  12. any others? - can't get that to work.
  13. any other streams? - wiziwig not working for me..

  15. I reckon our net spend may be less than £30mil not £37... Lovren 8.5 Waynama 12.5 Poch has stated that Osvaldo was not 15.. more like 13.5 I would imagine we may have got back 3m for Forren. Maybe £2m for Bale?
  16. I think people are forgetting about the massive influx of TV money coming into the prem this year... All teams will be spending decent amounts just to stand still... If every team is spending £30m we may in effect have to spend more than this (and wisely) to gain an advantage on our rivals... ...to put it bluntly we need to spend well just to stay 14th...
  17. I would like to see Brighton go up.. Play football the right way and would be a good addition to the Premiership... Poyet is a bit of a nobber though..
  18. Definitely championship promotion..... the bookies had us somewhere between 7-10th favourites for promotion in the off season.... Massive achievement...
  19. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-news-blues-line-1781261 Story in the Mirror stating that Chelsea are after Clyne... Unfortunately I can see this the first of many stories linking our players to other clubs before the start of next season... Just hope we can keep this team together... if we can stay up this year I'm really optimistic for the future...
  20. March 30 Chelsea (H) L April 6: Reading (A) D April 13: West Ham (H) D April 20: Swansea (A) D April 27: West Brom (H) W May 4: Tottenham (A) L May 12: Sunderland (A) D May 19: Stoke (H) D SAFE ON 39... Personally, i don't care how we do it... even goal difference... If we can stay up I think that we will push on massively next year...
  21. I wouldn't pay too much attention to transfer fees.. its a bit of a red herring.... although the most of the media and your average footy fan doesn't really get because they all like the big juicy numbers of transfer fees... It's all about the annual wage bill.... Each year in all the top european leagues there is a huge correlation between wage bill and league placement.. explained in the book, Why England Lose: And other curious phenomena explained by Simon Kuper (Author), Stefan Szymanski (Author) (a bit out of date now) We could spend £30 million on transfer fees the next three years and Spurs/Everton/Arsenal for examples could have a net spend of zero.... ..the amount they spend on wages would still dwarf ours though to the uninformed it would look like we were the big spenders... These tables would only make sense if they were fees plus wages.. otherwise they are totally irrelevant... p.s - in another point, whilst some of our buys have flopped they are mainly all young and will have retained some value.. so not all is lost on the fees...
  22. It has now been reported on 5live that there are tweets from current players stating Hooper deal to Norwich is on.... prob a good signing if true... Striker is probably their weakest position...
  23. sounds like Reading have really been riding their luck...
  24. Reading and Wigan winning at the moment... Hopefully these matches won't end like this...
