Saints 2 Newcastle 0 - Post Match Reactions
Horton Heath Saint replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Awful!!!!...............weather!!!!!....we were brilliant today, chased everything, hunted in packs, closed them down. We wanted it more than them, could have been six. Great save Gazza, everyone on feet applauding for 3 or 4 minutes. Brilliant performance. Shame about the weather!!!! -

Goalkeeper will make the difference
Horton Heath Saint replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
Exactly mate. -
They always said Peter Shilton was worth at least 10 points or more gained through the season with his goalkeeping. This is our weekest position in the team now, as the manager well knows, he brings in Gazza, then Boruc, why him? overweight, not good, his bottle throwing episode was a disgrace, I watched it, then clapped his hands at halftime towards the supporters. Please leave the club. Back to Gazza, very wobbly. Kelv? Need new goalie asap But who.......? Your thoughts please. Could make the difference in staying up or going down.

Cliff Huxford lives in Brook Road, Fair Oak. Bought his house brand new in the sixties.

You have Southampton Football Club at heart. Keep with it! From your contact at Culverlands!
-
Just a bit before my time, however, heard nice reports. Another fine servant for Southampton Football Club.

Our website is an absolute joke. Thought it was supposed to be OUR original design, check out Barnsley!!! THE F------ same!!!!!!!!! Absolute rubbish. I would like this sorted in the next week, loads of web designers Southampton would do a magnificent job. This could be sorted in days. The programme sellers are sacked within days, who is responsible for OUR FOOTBALL CLUB website?
-
Do you think we have the bottle, the desire, the fighting spirit, the guts, the commitment, to give 100% for Southampton Football Club, the supporters to keep this club in the Premiership. De je vu message from last time we were in Premiership! Our escape from relegation now begins, here we go again!!
-
After Aston Villa win today, there is now the usual gap that appears about this time of the season in November, the bottom three teams will now battle it out for the rest of the season in a relegation battle. History suggests one of those teams will rally and escape and another team above will get dragged in and get relegated. We now have a mountain to climb, not just winning one match, but winning two or three in succession just to get out of the bottom three. This is also the month, I have to say, that decisions are made over the position of the manager.

Adkins Interview On Whether The Club have Given Him Any Assurances
Horton Heath Saint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Brilliant reply -
They say it's good to talk! Will Mr Cortese be good to talk?
-
I think it is now time you make some kind of communication to the supporters of Southampton Football Club. I have supported this club for over 50 years.

Think we need another goalkeeper!

Buy a programme tomorrow and get a 'pint and programme', or 'programme and burger' deal. What's this all about? New programme sellers tomorrow, look out for young girls and guys wearing maroon coloured neck scarves with blazers. All our previous programme sellers have been given notice, along with The Murray couple who had a kiosk under the stands selling all Saints programmes home and away with their collection of programmes. Give The Murray's an outlet somewhere. So, will you buy a programme tomorrow?
-
Nigel Adkins. Very positive, I am impressed. He deserves all our backing. He is doing his upmost best, who else could do much better? Give him our support Sunday.
-
Will you buy one Sunday? Gone are the 'old programme sellers'. Sitting there in 'flat' caps. Not being unkind. Now, Sunday we will have 'up market' young guys and girls dressed up in uniform with patent scarves and blazers selling in and outside the ground. Along with concourses doing food/drinks deals with programme if you buy food or drink. Big notices going up all around. I, for one don't like change as you do, however, did our programme sellers push to sell, no, they would just sit there and wait for you to go to them. So these newbies will actually be crowd interactive and mingle to sell, they, I guess, will be on commission based. They will want to sell. Saying all this, really not happy about about our programme collection shop stall being evicted. Have a heart, Mr Cortese, that husband and wife team have been there since Dell days, they have our club at heart, bet they are devastated. True Saints. Please re consider Mr Cortese. At least, go and speak with them to explain.

Have the new recruits upset the team spirit?
Horton Heath Saint replied to maysie's topic in The Saints
Fact A footballer, these days, will not be at the club for much more than two years. A manager just about the same. -
Team for Tottenham, your thoughts?
Horton Heath Saint replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
5-2-2? or 3-3-2-2???? -
Boruc Clyne Fonte Yashida Fox Schneiderlin Chaplow Davis Llanna Mayuka Lambert Chaplow to mark Bale head on. Jay too much of a gamble in this big match. Mayuka with pace, hungry, around Lambert, we need to win. This would be my starting line up. Options to bring on, Punch, Rodrigues, Guly. Wish Billy Sharp was an option, think we made big mistake there. Your thoughts please?

Dave Jones tonight Leeds v Sheff Wed SKY
Horton Heath Saint replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
Did you see him on Sky tonight??? He was thundering. Well done Mr Jones. Read his book as well to see what a person he is. I never warmed to him when Rupert bought him from Stockport County......who!!! Very dour, no response in the dug out. Interviews, same as. He's got a very different side. Respect. -
Re after match interview tonight. Thought he was brilliant tonight. Never seen so much passion before, never thought he had that passion, always seemed laid back. Just watch his post match interview, would not want to mess with him. I'm now a big Dave Jones fan.
