Think everyone knew this was going to happen sooner than later, even more so Nigel Adkins. He was was under immense pressure from the first game, it was nearly done in November and Nigel Adkins knew from then on he was on borrowed time, no matter what results were achieved. But the timing must have been a massive shock for Nigel. I think Mr Cortese thought Nigel and his coaching staff looked out of their depth in this league, I also feel that Nigel, being English was not 'vogue' enough for The Premiership. Mr Cortese wanted 'foreign' like most. I think that he could not see Nigel having the experience to take us to the next level, but can our new Manager take us there? That is his remit to deliver. Time will tell. Mr Cortese new full well the reaction he would get today, as well against Everton on Monday. He knows he is very unpopular at this moment in time and would be well prepared for the reaction. He knows he is taking a big risk, he knows want he wants and felt Nigel was not 'big' enough to take him there. No one was even surprised he was not at the press conference today, not his remit. We don't even have a spokesman for Southampton Football Club, that's how it is, like it or not. Ruthless.

First and foremost we have made huge errors on our goalkeeping choices. This could prove our undoing. Davis has spilled, Gazza comes in and is frightened to death, Boruc strolls in and is still strolling, as for Tottenham incident, disgusting. Full backs, Clynes' height has let him down. Fox has looked nervous, Shaw still raw. Centre backs, Fonte ok, Hoov, no confidence, Cortesse will ship out Seabourne for that fight incident a year ago, he wil not have the club tarnished. Matin, lower league player, Yosh just ok. Midfield, Spider looks the part, Davis is average journeyman player like Hammond, Llalana needs to improve, Guly not premieirship. Cork has come on leap and bounds. Gaston needs to toughen up and not be pushed off the ball too easily. Ridder, just bit part. Ward- Prowse, one for the future. Jason Puncheon, pleasing to watch, great technique, just shoot instead of walking it in. Forwards, SRL puts in shift, lacking support, think he has lost yard of pace since last year. Rodrigues shows lack of Premieirship form, body language not good, needs to move into spaces. Mayuka missed his big chance. Tadanari Lee? Think we are lacking in all departments. 5/10

Instead of our substitute goalkeeper prancing around with outfield players at halftime doing jumpies, shouldn't he be between 'the sticks' and practise shot stopping and crosses. Know they do before match, but why not at half time?

As Terry Paine is now life President, what role could Matt play? Along with Terry Paine he is Southampton through and through, possibly even more so as he is always in and around all the time, unlike Terry, who comes back to Southampton once or twice a year. If Nicola could bring Matt on board it would be a massive coup, first and foremost, the supporters would have massive respect for you, it would be a massive selling point for the Club publicity wise and would send a massive message of unity. Fact is, we all love Matt, it won't go away, bloody well get him involved with the Club. Move on Nicola! Stop being stubborn. He is so much passion for the club, use it!! Get Matt and Terry in to the Directors box on a Saturday, oh, if you want, you can sit in the middle!

Such a shock. Saw him play many a time in the 60's. Saw lot's of him on the snooker circuit, he coached lot's of youngsters at Chandlers Ford Club, he also played for Conservatives, now Churchills in Eastleigh and won many tournaments.

There was a complete lack of passion today. We waited for the ball instead of looking for it, re Aston Villa, QPR, Newcastle. Don't think we really competed. No one really wanted it today. Ramirez keeps getting caught in possession, our midfield never created anything for our forwards today, Lambert and Mayuka didn't look a partnership. Lambert looks really frustrated at the moment. Ridder was a surprise today, is he Premiership? Think Steven Davis is just ordinary. As for the captains role, think we need a real leader in the team, someone to push the team, show passion, don't think we have that at the moment. All our recent signings are not doing enough for me. That was a relegation performance today, the players need to ask themselves if they performed to their best ability. Show some passion for the shirt.
