  1. But we will not hold on to them. From JP's comments in this article combined with RP's comments on the £4.8m loss it is clear that, not only are we being softened for the blow, but that other clubs are being alerted to who is worth taking a look at, and who is for sale. JP is, after all, just his master's voice.
  2. Aah, the perils of cutting and pasting without using quotation marks. Good to see my instincts are still correct and that you were so easily hooked.
  3. Not sure that 'teh' is strictly a misspelling, more of a 'typo', whereas 'program' (as in your original post) definitely is.
  4. But it will be new-manager-syndrome by then! Saints win just described as 'thoroughly deserved' on national radio. I AM dreaming!
  5. You may not like capital letters but when talking about reading they make a difference. And Im sure that record ain't broken - I could swear I heard Jan playing it recently.
  6. A true Saints fan will have a video/DVD of the FA Cup Final (as surely 'tis THAT goal to which you are referring) and will have watched it a sufficient number of times to dispell any doubt that may have been put in their minds by MU supporters that it was onside.

Jesus, what a miserable lot of over-the-top losers you lot are! My nickname is Victor for obvious reasons but I'm mellow and cheerful compared with all of you. Good luck Leicester. Good luck Matt (Oakley). Good luck Nigel. Good luck Saints. Good luck Jan (you're gonna need it). Have a nice day, one-and-all!
  8. No, you are wrong. Our 'current form' can hardly include 4 games played in August with Svensson and Holmes in the side. Things have moved on a little in 3 months and they have changed but certainly not improved. Our current form IS relegation form and our final position, and whether or not our current form will actually lead to relegation, will depend on improving our home form, as it will also depend on how we do relative to the 3 teams below us. This is the reality - quoting statistics is not, though it can be amusing.
  9. Lowe will stay, 7 games from the end of the season, with relegation beckoning, he will appoint an ex-player with many years experience as a defender in the English leagues who has gained useful experience coaching as an assistant at top clubs who will come in, sort things out and save us on the last day. Lowe will then place an extensive piece on the OS setting out this as proof that he is a football genius; grateful fans will bow in humility and agree he is God, and there will never again be any hint of criticism of him on this forum.
  10. Can't help thinking he is, sadly, just prolonging the agony for all of us, but he says he feels much more confident about the future now. So what's different this time? Can anyone offer reasons why we should be more hopeful this time? PLEASE!
  11. Surely football luminaires are better known as floodlights, or are you the bastard son of Mrs. Malaprop and the Rev. Spooner?
  12. He ****ed my club but I have stayed loyal to it. Did you stay loyal to your dog or get a divorce?
  13. Yeah, he has done well bad! (and that ain't easy).
  14. Being something of a septic I'm never surprised by wart that scab Wilde will do for publicity.
  15. Lets not get too excited - 'twas only the Junior Muratti! Anyway, we need a goalscorer so why not bring over Declan Sowney who got a hat trick? And we need a right back - so Fabio de Jesus could probably fit in there (and we won't have to pay his fare over - he can walk!).
  16. Yes, that's exactly how I remember him. A great character and a huge fan of Elvis - hence the hair (but thought he might have spotted that Elvis didn't have a moustache). Do hold one thing against him, though - he ran across in front of our keeper in a FA cup match when playing for, I think, Birmingham as a shot came in from some distance. The goal knocked us out of the cup. I should blame the ref tho', I suppose.
  17. Blimey, you lot don't half get hysterical easily. The Mirror said Megson "wants" Cork - fair enough. If it had been the Sun it would have said he was GOING to Bolton - and then next week they would have said he was going to Sunderland, and the week after that somewhere else, and then in January "WE TOLD YOU SO". Ha, ha. And good luck to Steve Wigley - glad to see you haven't let your experience at Saints get you down. And wouldn't only be a continuation of what's been happening lately, viz Wright, Davies, Bennet, Hammill, etc., etc.? Certainly wouldn't surprise me; I have learned to expect, though not accept, disappointment regarding the club.
  18. It needs more thinking about than I have time for, but looks like I probably owe you an apology - so please accept one!
  19. You are getting very muddled - 'Quisling' is not historic COINCIDENCE - it is the name of the actual man who collaborated with the Nazis, but his name has now become a noun in common usage that does not necessarily refer to, or imply, a Nazi. QUOTE: "Is it on a par? One makes behavioural comparisons with the actions of a renowned traitor and the other compares to a lower life form. Quisling, Judas, traitor, others along that vein are surely fair comment, although obviously exaggerated for effect, whereas insect, rat, c*ckroach or other equivalents are surely quite different." QUOTE And, yes, it is on a par - it means 'on a similar level as', not 'similar to'.
  20. "most jobs"? Was a success at Oldham, and will be at another club soon. And, of course, Coventry, Crystal Palace and Charlton have done SO much better since they got rid of him, despite having the highly-rated Coleman, Warnock and Pardew in charge, respectively! Failures the lot of 'em!
  21. Haven't you cottoned on yet? Southampton FC is not a 'club', it is a business run for the benefit of the shareholders. To improve the business they need to advertise and part of that is the OS. All advertising is spin and bull****. Did you really not know this?
  22. They have the sort of side we should have - some experienced players from the Premiership (some VERY experienced such as Gary Speed), some younger players and some astute acquisitions from the lower leagues. I would therefore expect them to hammer us - however, prediction is Nathan Dyer to come off the bench and score the winner 2-1.
  23. Your speculation and pontificating is superfluous - he is addressing those who are staying away because they object to Lowe -not because they are short of cash etc. - and anyone can issue a rallying cry; plenty do it on this and other Saints-related forums but the Echo will reach far more non-attenders, so good luck to him.
  24. And you take everything said on the Saints Web as worth worrying about .....aaaaah, how sweet!
  25. Aah, but they were talking about Dennis Rolfe! (who the L is he?)
