  1. Praise for just managing to avoid relegation to the third division? You must be joking!!
  2. Redefine "successful" in any way you like to support YOUR opinion, but please don't alter the dictionary definition to rubbish my comment. Pearson WAS successful (where was he 'unsuccessful'?), continues to be successful, and has always been English to my knowledge. If it ain't bust, don't fix it. Lowe is always saying he couldn't avoid managerial changes but this was unarguably one that is 100% down to him. (and I still don't believe WGS left because he wanted to rest his foot, or whatever)
  3. Third tier Leicester were able to attract a successful English manager. Do you count them as a "top club"?
  4. I thought that Saints kept their rubbish.
  5. There is only one clear and obvious choice. This guy is not good enough for the Championship and with his current side going up into that league he will therefore be made available by his current employers. But he will by then have a proven record track record of getting teams out of Div.1 Step forward ........ Nigel Pearson!!
  6. Bugger, can't get the hang of that football crap, I'm taking up shkittles.
  7. Aah, but you haven't read what Lordswood actually said - he mentioned being aware of a pending 'press release or statement' - not of the contents of any such release or statement. You really must keep up.
  8. Fortunately, you are too stupid to look in the stable where the horse is kept. It is still there and ready for the battle, which is neither lost nor won as yet.
  9. I predict the game will kick off a few seconds after 7.45pm in front of a crowd of 15, 476. The weather will be breezy and chilly with light showers towards the end of the game. Early Saints pressure will fail to produce a goal and the game will enter a scrappy phase from the 22nd minute. Around the half hour Derby will start getting a few shots in most of which will be ably dealt with by Kelvin. The Chapel end remains very quiet. As the first half draws to a close the persistently fussy referee awards Derby a contentious free kick on the edge of the area. 0-1. Saints respond well with a couple of speculative shots but go in at half time a goal down. Once again, it will be difficult to tell whether they gave you chocolate when you asked for coffee (partner swears it's tea). Saints start the second half briskly and dominate for 35 minutes when a shot from Gillett from outside the area deflects off LLallana's backside and into the net. 1-1 Saints get edgy after this and some deparate defending has everyone biting their nails but, despite the ref adding 5 minutes from God knows where, they see the game out and it ends all square. I had a dream.
  10. "confussed" - what an excellent word you have invented - it combines confusion and being nonplussed with being a litttle annoyed. I shall use it myself if you will release the copyright!

Are you sure you're not getting him confused with Matthew LeTissier? Mind you, I suppose they do both have big noses.
  12. Presumably not this Sagan, but she certainly has a lot in common with many footballers ..... "She was once involved in a car accident in her Aston Martin sports car, which left her in a coma for some time. She also loved driving her Jaguar automobile to Monte Carlo for gambling sessions. Also, in the 1990s, Sagan was charged with and convicted of possession of cocaine. Sagan was, at various times of her life, addicted to a number of drugs. She was a long-term user of prescription pills, amphetamines, cocaine, morphine, and alcohol."
  13. But haven't you added 11?
  14. A. We don't yet know if it's a 'small' upturn - it actually be the turning point. B. It's not too late - we have ten games to go; win our game in hand and we only need a draw or two better than 3 or 4 teams above us and we are safe. C. Any of the teams above us could have a dip in form - what makes you think that their recent good results means they are on a strong run but our good results are a false dawn? Let's hope that the team are up for a bit of positive thinking, even if you're not.
  15. Well, I'm certainly not going to eat humble pie. Wotte is just doing what I and many on this board felt should have been done from the start of the season. And I was quite right in having misgivings when he took over from JP, after all, he was half of the original comedy duo. He's the one who appears to have done an about-turn and who should eat humble pie. Him or Rupert.

Interesting that he calls his son Lior - presumably pronounced liar!
  17. OK, I don't believe anything that's in the Sun either, but since you seem to know, when was it - they certainly claim it WAS yesterday? And where does that leave DMcG? I'm far more interested in him - time to forget about BWP.
  18. One of the lower ranks I assume
  19. He did .... but only after a load of miserable carping about the the penalty decisions regarding the two handballs. Didn't express an opinion on the penalty we might have had and which would have made the winning margin bigger, though. Still, he does feel - somewhat unrealistically - that he has an axe to grind as far as Saints are concerned. (Stir!)
  20. I know the Sun is a thoroughly revolting pseudo-newspaper but this really is sinking to the depths. Making fun of people publicly because of their looks!! Would they do it if the players were otherwise physically impaired? Oh yes, sorry, they probably would. Pathetic. How could they have got it so wrong - Rooney is far uglier!

  22. Oh, the irony. If we stay up because Woote has been pragmatic and adopted a style that suits the demands of this league - and I now believe we will stay up - the person who can really claim the credit is Poortvliet! Poortvliet walked, remember, because he felt he couldn't do it and let someone he felt could, takeover. Nothing to do with Rupert, who was happy with things as they were ......apparently!
  23. Prize goes to the first caption without the word 'tackle' in it.
  24. So what's he gonna have to do to make you like him?
  25. How can you lose two thirds of 4 games!?
