  1. Blimey, I'm in trouble when my son reads my query - he's heavily into Aussie Rules; an Englishman playing Australian Rules for Ireland in Croatia last week - how Irish is that?
  2. What's a West Coast Eagle - does it play rounders or netball or 'soccer' in America, or some such thing?
  3. Learn something every day - I thought Top Gear was for children who want a Ferrari for Christmas, but end up having to settle for g0-faster skirts for their old Corsa.
  4. Love Kelvin's relaxed demeanour after the save - or was he just still too embarrassed after the 2 he conceded to celebrate?
  5. It'll take at least 2 more goals from Saints to ease dis temper I'm in.
  6. Really? I thought Rovers got 3 goals!
  7. Where the problems "lay"? I think we still have those problems!

    Papa Injured

Nothing new. It is club policy.
  9. Can just about imagine MLT being a "market gardener and pig breeder" in his spare time whilst a Premiership player, but not many of the others!
  10. With just over 2 hrs to go before the transfer window shuts my expectations are getting lower and lower. If no news by then relegation will be a real possibility. In fact, I think I'll settle for expecting relegation now - that way I can get my disappointment over with in time to maybe enjoy some of the season.
  11. How about: "Stockport have lost all their home games this season and we always like to help teams with a record like that"?
  12. Not so. The team finishing 6th had 76 points, therefore a team on -10 would have needed 86 points to make the play-offs. This was achieved by Leicester, Peterborough and MKDons. Additionally, Leeds would have made it if they had started on only -10. I actually believed after ML came in that the play-offs was a realistic possibility. It looks less so now, but it IS still possible. And of course AP realises there is still work to be done - 2 points from 12 - would anyone be happy with that and think the job was sorted?
  13. OK, give us a clue. Start by telling us how Norwich turned it round so dramatically.
  14. I don't think hoping for a home win before our third league match at SMS wass 'craving instant success', neither was it an unrealistic expectation. And saying that because of the malaise the club has been in we shouldn't have expected anything else is wrong - this is a new era, we had half a new team out there, a new manager, we are in a league lower than we were last season. Of course I expected a home win by now, and quite reasonably so. I expect things to get better, but then I always have, and for far too many years they haven't.
  15. Spineless. Building a team. Need time to gel. Drawing our home games, losing away. Can't hold a lead. Conceding late goals. Pearson doing well at Leicester. And it all ended in relegation. Sound familiar?
  16. Coupled with Burnley beating MU!
  17. Sorry, I don't expect sardony on this site!
  18. Such conceit is certainly 'sad'. I much preferred poor Yorick's.
  19. Mathematically only 1 in 5.5 surely? Or 1 in 13 of automatic promotion. But things aren't that simple - on the plus side we have money, decent players coming in, one of the biggest supports in the league, a proven manager, an apparently committed, level-headed owner determined to let football people do it for him etc. so the odds are swung in our favour. The -10 doesn't help, but thoughts such as 'we are probably not going up' don't either. We have a good chance of going up and, even if not, at the moment it looks as though it will be an exciting season. I am more confident that we have a good chance of going up than that a D of F will help.
  20. No I didn't, 'cause I read Saint Stevo's prediction before yours. (I always start reading threads from the top)
  21. Did they laugh when we had that girl playing up front for us? Scored against them too, I believe.
  22. So who WAS chairman when we went into admin? I suppose he resigned at 4.00pm and we went into admin at 4.01pm. To be fair, it has been a little difficult to keep up with who did what and when over the last few years. Hopefully the revolving doors have been removed rather than repaired after the use they have had.
  23. We have lost 10 points. A lot of people, and presumably a fair number of local good businesses, have lost a lot of money from our clubs mismanagement. We are now debt-free. I don't think we should complain too loudly, only ask for punishment to be meted out on an equal basis, not on which club you are or what influence you have with the FA etc..
  24. I wish you hadn't pointed this article out to me - I only want to think bad things of Ferguson!
  25. Make your mind up, is it OK to deprive the club of revenue by cheating or not?. And the issue IS clear cut - someone aged 57 but looking over 60 passing themselves off as someone who is over 60 is just as bad as an 'offence' as an adult using a child's ticket.
