  1. Rickie Lambert. Do you really think Pardew cares a toss about Lowe?
  2. But won't be able to play for us at Wembley in May, unfortunately.
  3. Yeah, VERY useful - more news about St. Patrick's Athletic, pleeeeeeeease!!
  4. Except that Martin is cup-tied.
  5. There is no reason to detest David James, you prat. Happy New Year.
  6. Thankyou. That is certainly a relief - I was frightened we were returning to the circus that was SFC over the last few seasons when the clowns were in charge.
  7. What on earth is a "marquee" signing? Is it one that is on-off, on-off right up to the last day leaving us all feeling very tents?
  8. And Harding didn't even get a YELLOW for that!
  9. Victor

    Great photos!

Thanks for responding, but reason I asked is that 'right click' seems to be blocked on OS for me - have got that one from St Landrew OK but can't get others from OS.
  10. Victor

    Great photos!

St Landrew, please tell a technological ignorameous how you managed to get that as .jpg ... I was about to print and scan that lot - they are excellent.
  11. Everyone know Fotherington-Thomas is a wet and a weed.
  12. So, tell me, when DID time begin? And what came before that? And were people asking questions as soon as time began? And were there scientists there to answer them? Correctly?
  13. Agree with this but would add that there are obviously legends that are better known than others - e.g. everyone knows the legend of Robin Hood, fewer the legend of Ceridwen - and I think other criteria are that they will be spoken of after their time and the stories, accurate or not, are passed on to later generations. Strict accuracy in the telling is not important - I don't doubt Ron Davies (legend) leaps even higher with each passing year. Therefore, players of less than the highest 'quality' can be legends (Franny) and underachievers (Stan Bowles, probably better known for extra-curricular activities) also.
  14. The 1st phase/second/phase situation most commonly comes from free kicks or drop kicks. When running the line in junior football I was advised to stay in line with the last defender whilst glancing between them and the kicker; just as you anticipate the kicker striking the ball you look at the last defender and listen for the strike of the ball. This could usually also be used in open play and worked well when there were just a couple of mums and a dog. Is it impossible to work this system in front of 19,800?
  15. Anyone heard of east and west, or does that Tom Tom thingy not recognise them?
  16. And how much for my Danish pyjama top shirt with MLT. Shearer, Nichol, Rideout, Rod Wallace, Horne, Moore, Maddison, Dodd, Case, Benali, Flowers, Osman etc. signatures? Am prepared to remove Steve Baker's signature for right offer.
  17. ... and Bristol? That leaves us better than Bournemouth (a team that has to put schoolboys in the squad because they are in even bigger trouble than we were last season) and Brighton (a team that plays in a borrowed athletics stadium), but not as good as a side that can't afford to pay it's players. We can feel well proud.
  18. Does Paul Rideout still play for them? Hope not.
  19. Congratulations for totally missing the point I was making. I get far more upset about cheating that affects Saints' games, but accept it as a (albeit regrettable) part of the game. Sh!t happens.
  20. The French are a 'bunch of cheats'. Really? I thought just one of them handled the ball. Has an English player ever handled a ball deliberately to gain an advantage? Yes, so the English are also a bunch of cheats, and should be excluded from the World cup, right? Would the Irish have won the match if Henry had not handled the ball? Possibly, but more likely no, they wouldn't have. Which of the two foreign sides do you think would have added more to the finals, France or the Republic of Ireland? What lessons should be learned from the way in which it will be France that are in this year's tournament finals? These are interesting subjects for debate, not whether or not the French are a bunch of cheats. Before you lot get all high and mighty and xenophobic think about just a few of the English players you've slagged off for diving, fouling, handling, shirt-pulling, wrongly claiming for throw-ins, feigning injury, time-wasting etc.; particularly when they have been playing against Saints. Let's just be a little more adult about this.
  21. I'm old and Grumpy - might game a game yet.
  22. But, fortunately, what Rupert did WAS in the past so we don't need to waste time thinking about them. Do I also have to let go of the FA cup win, Alan Ball, the fantastic '80s 124 years of history - most of it something to be proud of - Ted Bates etc.? I guess you just mean the sh!t bits (i.e. the Lowe years).
  23. Bacon? Pyjama tops? Pastry? Hans Christian Andersen? Mermaids? Large dogs?
  24. If you ARE Danish, as your location implies, I offer my humble apologies for taking the ****. I know no Danish whatsoever but would love to visit. Unfortunately 'er indoors likes it hot. (cue smutty jokes).
  25. Is absolutely dominating more dominating than dominating?
