I don't think Chris Marsden ever did grow up. Rudi Skacel.

I think we all need to calm down and get a sense of proportion and history. Anyway, I think Cortese has other plans.

How would it go - "one Markus Liebherr, there was only one Markus Liebherr"? Doesn't sound quite right. If no-one can think of something more dignified than a simple minute's silence why don't we just leave it at that?

I'm with those who believe it to be an over-reaction. ML seemed a nice guy and it is very sad for his family, but we did not 'know' him. I suspect his reasons for taking over the club were not altruistic although when he took over there seemed a genuine desire to establish the club as an active and meaningful part of the community. NC, however, seems intent on alienating the fans and the football community in his focused and personal drive to get the club back to the premiership which has no place for sentiment. It is somewhat ironic therefore that the club is now taking a somewhat sickly-sentimental attitude to what is really a 'tragedy' that is personal to the Liebherr family. We do not know to what extent NC's methods were driven by or perceived by ML and if ill-health prevented ML from having a bigger influence - maybe it was ill-health that prevented him from attending the Southend game - we simply do not know. As fans, we have been given short shrift; now they want us to join them in a public show of grief and hand-wringing when, personally, I believe most of us (if we are honest) are wondering how it will affect the club and the players will be wondering about their futures. Meanwhile, the rest of the league are saying "Markus who?".

Articulate? He is no more articulate than yourself. I have had several attempts at trying to work out what your last sentence was meant to be saying and have now given up.

Tax avoidance is NOT "fine". It may be legal, but it is cheating and it is immoral. Tax is simply taking back a little of what is held by a few of the rich but which has been earned by the efforts of the workforce and the values created by the needs and desires of society for the benefit of those workers and that society. The national debt is roughly equivalent to the estimated value of tax "avoidance" (a euphemism, incidentally) but thousands will be losing their jobs because the government would rather spend their resources chasing a maximum of £3m benefit fraud because it is more politically expedient.

Aaaagh, you've made my brain hurt!

Top man, but hardly a subtle answer to the question about how HE felt about the speculation regarding his position - "not my decision". Thanks, Alan, confirms all we feared - he's not allowed to decide how he feels, and sure as Hell not allowed to comment even he weren't sensible enough not to!!

Should not "The match day programme will still be available on the day" read "The match day programme will NOW be available on the day"?

Is The Forum Representative Of Saints Fans In General
Victor replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
How many replies to this thread would you need to consider that you had got a representative answer to your question? -
Terry Curran. Doesn't score enough goals for an attacking midfielder.

I believe this to be either complete and utter ******** or so little-known that his mother has not told Nick yet. (assuming you meant " Lee Holmes' dad ")

Can't work out what your avatar is supposed to be. Is it racist?

Maybe not a "Big Deal" but since it involves one of the best and most loyal players ever to wear the red stripes it is of considerable interest to those of us over 21. Back to your comics.

It's a Pony/Sanderson with the narrow stripes and button-up collar from about '96 (as worn by Egil). Large. Open to ridiculously generous offers.

Ordered a shirt for Christmas for my son over the phone - "Channon and no.8 on the back, please". It came a couple of days before Xmas with 'Shannon'! They did rush me a corrected version in time for the Big Day after I promised to take the other back at the Boxing Day fixture. However, heard on the radio that was called off because of a frozen pitch after we were an hour into our journey to the Dell so I still have a mint, unwearable Saints shirt in my drawer!

Something a little sad about naming your first child after your footballing hero. God, you are going to be sooooo disappointed if he wins Olympic gold in ice skating.

We didn't quite make the play-offs last season because we could not kill off teams that we thought inferior. I do not believe that problem has been addressed;in fact, without A&P I think we will find it harder Make up your own mind if I am disappointed since it would appear I would upset people were I to say I am.

Gave me goose pimples too - seeing Bobby lift the FA Cup. But what the f*** was that clip doing in there??!!

Was meant to be a joke but thanks for those articles. Not seen them before, nor can I find them on the OS - are they available to access freely and if so how do you find them? Thanks again.

Damn, I had a copy but some Italian bloke snatched it from me!
