----------------W. Disney----------- B.Crosby--- F. Sinatra --- P. Como --- D. Martin J. Lewis --- G. Kelly --- F. Astaire --- S.Davis B. Abbott --- L. Costello I really do not like the sound of that back four and the forward line is a bit of a joke. Expect some fancy footwork from midfield though.

We lost to the bottom team in the league because we didn't score. Check the rules.
-
But surely all 24 squads in League 1 have similar attributes and the best, by definition, will be the one that finishes at the top? The team that finishes second will be second best. And your view on the other points I made?
-
You are very confused. You cannot have "one of the best" as there is only one 'best', but if you mean it is a fact that we have one of the better squads in the division you cannot be proved wrong if, as you say, it is a FACT. What is a fact is that at the start of the season we were favourites to win the division and therefore 6th place will be failure, and will be down, in my view, to sacking the manager without a plan B in place at the time. If the squad is as good as you say it would be achieving better results than it is since there are no points awarded in this division for style or execution. I also believe your faith in NC is misguided. He has been here 14 months or so - what makes you think he is going to learn what is required in the next 10? Even if he does, he will be behind his own schedule. He has a lot to learn and at the moment he does not appear to be learning quickly enough. Far from having a plan he seems to be making it up as he goes along and that worries me.

Who let this Beppo thing in? It's like a nasty fly that buzzes around and ****s on everything. Can't someone open a window and let the bloody thing out!
-
No, because then I would get no compensation.
-
No, he is still AT Scun7horpe, He came from Bangor City.

Deppo was raised on the planet Eriadu, a factory world which served as Grand Muff Wilhuff Tarkin's seat of governorship over much of the Outer Rim Territories. Deppo was an audacious youth and showed great stupidity at a young age, displaying little to no interest in anything outside of working on vehicles and empty vessels. He became very dedicated to his work as he grew older, so much so that he never recognized the amount of death and destruction his posts would end up causing by frustrated readers having to give up on every thread because he had taken them over and turned them into boring, pointless wastes of time.
-
You idiot! You've given the game away - now all the other 23 teams in the league will sack their management team this week, appoint a tyro manager within a few days and we'll ALL end up at the end of the season in first place with the same number of points, and with us beginning with an 'S' that's our chances ****ed!
-
OK, I'll have patience. I will wait and see if NC has got rid of the management team while not having anyone in mind to replace them (as he says) which, at this stage of the season and with things as they were (pretty good and with no need to panic) seems utterly ridiculous and likely to prejudice our chances of promotion, or that, in fact, he has a considerably superior team lined up and ready to take over soon. But my patience will run out if there is not a better team in place within 10 days, because otherwise we have a struggle on our hands. And even if they are better I won't actually like it because it shows a ruthlessness I am not happy with. 'Patience'? Yes, I am all for it, but it was patience that made the old Saints stick with Lawrie when things went badly at the start and eventually lead to the best 10 years the club has had, done with honour and pride in what the club (and then it actually felt like a club to which I belonged) had achieved on very limited resources. But patience to let money achieve the Premiership at the expense of treating staff, the fans etc, with contempt? You can ****ing keep your bloody patience!

At least the first part of Cortese's vision for the club has gone to plan - we have given the JPT trophy away with a whimper and can now concentrate on the league until January. The man is a genius.
-
Surely there should be no question of why the timing. Cortese clearly wanted AP out last season but did not because of pressure. The naive say it was fans pressure, but when did NC give a toss about the fans? Surely the more likely is that the pressure to keep AP was from ML who wanted to conduct matters in a respectable manner. Now ML is dead, public respect has been made with a grand gesture; now it is His club and He can do what he likes.
-
I have two for you - Ted Bates.
-
Excited? Trust Cortese? AP was the man to get us out of this division - apart from Sheffield W we had no-one to fear. It was just a slow, disjointed start, that was all. Cortese wants the bling of the Premiership while we're still in the 3rd division. I am outraged. What a way to treat AP, Wally, the fans etc.. The man is a **** and I want nothing else to do with the club I have been supporting for 47 until Cortese has gone. It is his plaything and it will all end in tears and he WILL go as all dictators meet a nasty end eventually. The last Italian one ended up hanging upside down from a lampost. I'm too far away at the moment so hopefully the good citizens of Southampton will have done the job before I can get down there.

Ah, The Byrds and those riffs by Jim McGuinn - now you're talking!

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience

Trouble is though, those 70,000 have mostly been miserable gits who won't get behind their team. Bristol Rovers away on Saturday and back to a 3-1 win for Saints. -
You haven't thought this through. All those boring photos of players with their arms folded and a bottle of expensive coloured water in front of them or maybe a couple of goal celebrations (provided a goal is scored). How exciting.
-
They do. They use the pictures for training purposes: "This photo is one of a terrorist. This photo, however, is one of a law-abiding Brazilian."
-
We have had a stop-start season with 2 quick games and then a big gap, all of these in front of you miserable sods. Away from home on Saturday and we will win 3-1.
-
So you admit you WERE wrong, he did have a plan B. What you are saying is you know better than AP. Fair enough, just come out and say it, but don't wrongly accuse him.
-
If you bothered to listen to what he said he said he DID have a plan B but actually felt it would be better to stick with plan A. So he DID have a plan B and he SAID he had a plan B. Just listen. If he hesitates it's because he is actually thinking about what he is saying and is giving constructive and analytical comment rather than trotting out the cliches that most managers use to cruise through interviews. May not be as funny as Ollie or as laughable as Saggy Chops or as annoying as Ferguson (or as silent if you're listening on BBC) but it is a darned sight more interesting.

Blimey! Don't they do irony in Dubai?

Wow, a refreshing thread at last and with some good news. And with only the tiniest bit of criticism of another poster so even I will restrain myself from asking S-Clarke why he put "think" in quotation marks.

The non-Marcus Tribute thread for thrashing out stuff

I think a statue is a very bad idea. I think a statue conceived by you is an even worse idea as one with his name mis-spelled would be even more embarrassing than the original Ted. -
Matt's last-ever league goal at The Dell goal: saw it on telly on the early-evening news having spent the day moving house. Could not believe it had actually happened - thought I must have turned on Jackanory by mistake!
