Just read that David Bentley has retired. The story is: Young talented footballer finds his career at a so called smaller club, Blackburn. Plays ok and steadily improves, has one good season for Blackburn, gets capped by England and heralded by the media. A bigger club comes knocking in the shape of Spurs, Bentley gets his wish and moves. He has sporadic good games, the odd great goal, falls out of favour, loaned to various clubs including back to Blackburn and plays even less. He gets released at 28 and ends up retired at 29. So the grass isn't always greener. FWIW, I believe Lallana is a much better player than Bentley ever was and I just hope we keep him.

Two days after that draw however, Adkins was sacked by the clueless Chief Executive, Nicola Cortese, in favour of Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino who can barely speak a word of English, nice one Nicola.

This is a ludicrous decision. Saw this in the Mirror this morning and wondered why it would happen now. Stunned and disappointed and can only pray that we stay up. Absolutely stupid

Folks Being out here in Dublin where they play football with their hands I haven't seen much of the team so i am reliant on tv and here. Im curious after nearly a third of the season about our summer buys. Looking at today's team 50% of our new signings are on the bench and don't seem to have started too often I'm wondering as to the reasons behind this. Are they not up to scratch, just settling in etc . Here's to 3 points today COYS
