There is so much to be positive about ahead of Sunday. It has been bloody tough so far, obviously, but it is clear that Adkins still has the dressing room and the unity was there for all to see on Saturday, a result and performance like that will send their confidence sky high. Newcastle are in a slump, playing Thursday night and will be without Cabaye who makes them tick, Tiote breaks up play but it is Cabaye who creates And with a full house supporting the team on the back of a brilliant win it is easy to be optimistic about our chances.

They are just far harder to break down and ultimately beat along with some genuine steel in midfield which we definitely lack. As for Jaaskelainen, on the decline but still capable of winning points on his own like v Newcastle, no doubt his presence gives his back four some confidence, again something our defence isnt currently enjoying in front of Davis, Boruc or Gazz
