Koeman speaking after bournemouth friendly
Saints boy in Leeds replied to Dazza82's topic in The Saints
This 100% for me, as long as we make a shed load and replace with others of similar (or better quality) then alls well. Let any player that wants to leave, leave, I want people that want to play for us, let em warm the bench for the big boys. -
In reply to your question, what we're supposed to do, support the team.

I think most of us understand our position in the footballing world. The fact that we have one of the best academys in Euprope is a wonderful thing, unfortunately we're a small club, like it or not that's the fact if the matter. We will always sell our best players (for the right money) as money talks. Should Reed and the others have great seasons in the next few yrs, they will also go for big money, as long as the club makes a shed load, its fine with me. Man United, arguably one of the biggest in the world sold their best player to Real Madrid a few years back, recently Liverpool sold theirs. Whilst I'm gutted to see what we had last season (Poch aswell as players) end , that's just how it is, and probably always will be. It's not like a kid who would move club because the teams not very good and moves to better his skills, I doubt it will make them much better players, unfortunately it's all about money, bottom line. Bale, played for a top 4 team at the time ( I think) - sold Ronaldo, played for the PL Winners (I think) - Sold Goofy toothy, played for the PL runners up, Sold Anyone that thinks we would hold onto these players is out of touch, we may not like it but it's always going to happen, get on with it and support the rest of the squad and RK.

I hope at least 4 1 x GK 2 x Def 1 x Forward / attacking Mid Prob will only sign a couple I think.

So how is going to get the hallowed Number 7 Shirt?
Saints boy in Leeds replied to ericofarabia's topic in The Saints
I agree, would be mint if Gaston decided to show up and play like he's capable of and we could give it to him ? -
Let him go, I don't want anyone playing for us that's not up for it and just wants to be elsewhere.

The Flip Side - Very Compelling Project For Koeman
Saints boy in Leeds replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
To be fair I haven't seen or heard anything about the players we've been strongly linked with but I'm looking forward to see how RK gets on, I think he will do well, just got a feeling that we will be pleasantly surprised with what happens, look what happened to Poch, he had a blinder and was unknown to most people, I'll put my neck on the line and say that 70% of people with know who our new manager is. -
I think we we're unlucky not to get a draw last night. Second half crossing was pretty bad and let's not forget it was Italy who have won 4 World Cups (I think) and 1 EC in thier history, last cup was won 7 odd years ago and our last and only honour was over 45 years ago. The only thing I'd say that disappointed me was Johnsons performance and the Rooney chance, I for one now firmly believe he should be dropped as others in the squad have had better seasons than him and deserve a chance, they are the future after all. He's had plenty of chances in international tournaments and he has never delivered, if he sticks that chance away he shouts any doubters up and we may even of gone on to win ? Still think we will go through as if we play like that in the next 2 games we should just about win them.

Appalling show of commitment from our players
Saints boy in Leeds replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
If they don't want to be a saints player then let them go, on the other hand I've recently looked at it all this way (Poch going and players following) A - Players and manager (Poch, Lovren, Big Vic) buy into a "project" and sign for saints. B - Project is very good and lives upto expectation until 2/3 of the way through the season (NC leaves) C - Project folds and new project doesn't appeal to players (current players and new) So you can see why they may want to move on, for all we know the club don't want to push on and in their eyes waste a load of wedge to the club and are happy battling to stay in the PL. This may not be the case but if you were head hunted and sold on a project, moved jobs to give it a go and 6 months into your role the company's bought out, would you leave out of principle that the new role isn't what you moved for or stay on unhappy in your new role for the new owners ? Just looking at it another way. -
Don't see the point in booing him, he's done wonders for the club by getting us up the league meaning we get more money. I'm gutted he's gone but we move on, can't really blame him and nobody knows what our offer to him was, I very much doubt it was anywhere near what Spurs have offered though.

In a word, no.
-
I'd like to think that we are going for it (signing better players, holding onto current ones and going for Europe ) but the fact that our talks with Poch didn't last that long and were unsuccessful suggests maybe the board don't share his ambition or want to commit a wedge of cash to do that. Just my thoughts obviously.

Hopefully our next manager will wear our colours on his tie, that kind of got to me that it was always dark blue. Never really expected him to stay, life goes on.

My Mrs bro was at a celeb party in London at the weekend and a few of the footballing agents were there, a couple of them advised him that Lallana and Lovren will be announced as Liverpool players next week, £30m for the pair. Make of it what you will, my guess is it Bull.

Durham is a joker, one of the main reasons I don't listen to talk sport any more, shame coz Goughy is quite good on the radio IMO.
-
They're both human, move on mate.

We would end up playing one of the big boys in the semis or final anyway, rather loose to Sunderland in the 5th round than get beat by Brighton or Hull in the 1/4s or one of the big boys in the semis.
-
Don't think anyone wants to get rid of the manager, I can understand why our fans (not all) are p&££ed off with yesterday, I was livid last season when we got beat by Leeds in the cup but I think more so this season as we're a much better outfit and even with that team yesterday we should of at least given them a game. Just one of those days yesterday, I'm waiting to see how the team responds again WHU next week, then we'll know how good our manager is and if the team really respect him as much as it's reported.

Agreed, although Hull didn't really trouble us that much, mainly long balls but well played and fair dos to maya.
