I'm sure he's a decent player but I would hardly say wonder kid Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sell him, move on without him. I would never boo a player for being ambitious or wanting to better himself, FairPlay to him. I love the club not the players. Unless a player has grown up with a team from a young age there won't be any loyalty what so ever, even then heads will be turned by bigger clubs offering more money, that is human nature. I wonder if Le Tissier were playing in today's world in terms of limelight and money, would he of stayed if he were in VVD position ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For what it's worth I think the majority realise that he must be sold now no matter what. He won't want to stay now and the board shouldn't want to keep hold of him. Our priority now is to sell to the highest bidder and get a replacement in asap. It does make me wonder why we didn't sell him back in July though as we probably would of got more for him. The only reason I can see the logic behind waiting is waiting until deadline day, if he's not sold by then we will received offered from all over the place and we choose the highest bidder (in theory) we just need to make sure we get a replacement in that is first team quality or near it, I hear the Polish lad doesn't look great from the performances so far but pre season is pre season I guess. I don't watch enough of the games to comment on tactical elements of the manager to be honest but as a supporter finishing 8th in arguably the best league in the world and getting to a cup final I'm very thankful. Fair enough we haven't played the football that most of us want but then aside from the top 5/6 who does ? Personally I'd not sack him over the summer, if VVD stays and we strengthen with a couple more players then at least give him a few months and see where we are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Better starting 11, better squad, better manager. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I can confirm that goldsmiths are decent, picked up a Tag automatic Calibre from them, good service and lots to choose from. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many points do we need to stay up?
Saints boy in Leeds replied to Bstokesaint's topic in The Saints
I think 40/41 will do it, we are a good team but missing key players and are low on form and confidence. I honestly think we have enough to stay up, I think we will finish 13/14th as once the cups out of the way the players can get back to playing without worrying about getting knocks during matches ruling them out or missing the Final (must be on the back of their minds) I'm not daft though and believe we should of strengthened defensively in Jan, even if it was loans for squad players as if Maya gets injured that leaves 1 CB in a very inexperienced (for the prem) Stephens. Which points from which of our remaining 14 games ?
Saints boy in Leeds posted a topic in The Saints
Ok, so when you hear 14 games left you think that should be plenty of games to get the points needed. 6 of these games are against the "big" teams so that leaves 7 games to get the points required. For me - Sunderland - 1 Arse - 0 Watford - 1 Man U - 0 Spurs - 0 Bournemouth - 3 Palace - 3 WBA - 1 City - 0 Chelsea - 0 Hull - 3 Liverfool - 0 Midd - 1 Stoke - 1 I Pray I'm there or there abouts with these points as I think it will be 40 points needed to stay up this year. I don't like to say it but with being only 6 points away from it currently I think we could be in one this season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm happy that we've signed him and hope he is the one to convert the chances but I think it could cost us not getting at least 1 CB for cover. The club are taking a massive risk relying on our current CBS for the next 4 months, if Yoshida gets injured we wouldn't keep many clean sheets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can see a draw or win, with Fonte gone it's good for the squad for it to be over and done with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A replacement central defender?
Saints boy in Leeds replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
We need to replace, we are 9 points from bottom and we're on an awful run of form in the league, we also need to replace Pelle. How we haven't been active in this window is beyond me. I'm sure we have been but it's worrying that there seems to be no news apart from Fonte leaving and possibly VVD. If we keep the squad as is then I will be very worried. Only takes another injury or 2 and we're goosed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
10 or so games in and I think we will have a much better idea of if he's going to work. It seems like we've been playing well in the last 2 or so games but have just been lacking in the final 3rd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man Utd v Saints Post Match Hmmmmm.....

I noticed a few of the players popping off at each other a few times, interesting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
We had plenty of chances last night and I thought looked good. Playing against a new Untd team that is defensively much better than last year, if long cuts in side rather than sending a pea roller to the keeper, Redmonds ball was better to Tadic at the far post and Tadic stayed on side we may of picked up a point. Classie was to blame for me as the second goal killed our momentum and give them the confidence. Ibra will score tons this season so that's not a bad result away from home, apart from the 2 goals I didn't think they were any better than us. It's the 2nd game of the season so no point in spinning out just yet. I do think Puel needs to change our formation through and play players in their preferred / correct position. Couple this with a CB (Yoshi has always worried me as cover) and hopefully a striker that's decent and we will be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm actually looking forward to this season. It seems that the players that wanted to leave have left so in my eyes that leaves us with a squad of players that want to work hard and be at the club. Redman excites me as I believe he has pedigree and as long as he's here to work hard and improve will be a great signing. I would say I'd like to see another striker come in for when Pelle goes and maybe 2/3 others for Def & Mid cover due to the amount and frequency of games the team will need to play but we still have time to make signings before the season starts. All my opinion of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sheff Utd 1-0 Saints Post match carnage.
Saints boy in Leeds replied to Edmonton Saint's topic in The Saints
At the game yesterday, I must say that for me, the worst aspect of last night was to seeing supporters (saints) having a pop at fellow supports because they decided to clap for the team at the end, shocking. I think the players will know what the fans thought of the performance, Long had to walk right to the corner to give his shirt away, Toby was saying sorry and the rest got as far as the 18 yard area and realised they would be in for abuse and turned around and walked off. Still not sure about the level of abuse that a lot of fans gave, but then again we all paid to watch what was an awful effort from the boys and most travelled a long way too. As for the match, the pitch was not great and the same can be said for the ref, but that's football. That being said we simply didn't turn up tonight, I get that through knocks / resting players or suspensions we didn't field our best 11 but that was a very, very bad effort, not performance because we didn't perform, on any level. Morgan played ok (6/10) but for me Forster was best, he made 3 or 4 good saves but let himself down by spilling the free kick that allowed them to score. They all lacked movement, a lot of the time the forward’s and midfield were static, waiting for someone else to do something, and no one took charge, long balls all night. For me the worst of the play was the side to side, then backwards passing, no options all night, no one dropping in to collect, we didn't have a distributor out there capable of a through ball even. Mane and Mayuka just don't seem to have the skills or ablilty to take it round players as they just turn into danger and get robbed, or fall over. Pointless having pace if you can't get passed your man. Anyway on to the next game, think a draw at best is about all we can get as a few will be out now after picking up the yellow / red. -
We should of kept him and played him at CB, look absolute quality in that position for the gunners.

Personaly I'd love to see Richards (man city) come in, think with a run in a team could be very good.

The game is already showing that Yoshida is nowhere near PL standard, not even as back up IMHO.
