Hello, I have a rat problem under my chicken house. I have been finding huge droppings inside the chicken house and inside the food dispenser, yesterday I moved the chicken house and found the mother of all rat holes. So went out and purchased a rat trap baited with a brandy snap, and two small rat traps baited with peanut butter. Came down this morning in my socks too find the biggest rat I've ever seen, it was the size of a rabbit. i walked over to it and and it had eaten the brandy snap, and was looking at me hissing like a snake.
I went down to it's level to admire my catch and the bugger turned around and escaped from the trap through a gap at the top of the lid, the size of about 5.0mm x 30.0mm and ran back down the hole.
Will I be able to use the trap again or will the rat suss out my trap?
How the hell did it escape?
