I wanted Puel out and I don't regret it, although I do wish him all the best at Leicester. Sometimes the club and manager are just not suited and I believe that we did not really have the type of players for Puels brand of football. generally his brand of football was to all defend and then hit the opposition on the break............something that he is very succesful with at Leicester with the likes of Vardy. This is why we had so many rubbish turgid games especially towards the end of the season and we went so long with out scoring at home. Glad he`s gone yes happy with what we have ended up with NO

I don't think that there is a lot wrong with those predictions. There are a couple that could go either way............Everton away, Newcastle Away, Burnley away they are not doing much lately. cynical old me say that Saints will come out and say we have been trying but were unable to reach an agreement. hoping that it will appease us fans. Guys...........how do we really know how this guy is going to preform for us. you can look at his stats all day long if you want and they mean exactly nothing when it comes to playing for Saints. All I can say as disillusioned Mopo follower is lets give this guy the benefit of the doubt and get behind him and see what happens. We are currently in the relegation zone with a good chance of being relegated. The club have to try something to change these fortunes around. I for one have been disappointed that we have taken so long to make our 1st signing this window. we sold VVD on the 1st January and here we are on the 25th about to make our 1st signing. If we had not buggered about for the last 3 weeks this guy could already be settled into our side making a difference. At the moment I have lost faith in Mopo the same as I lost faith in Puel and look at what a great job he is now doing at Leicester! Lets get behind our team at every game because they really need us not a bunch of squabbling negative fans. I sometimes believe that some on here will not be happy until we are declared bankrupt and relegated to league 2 because they will then be able to say "I told you so"

how many more times!!!!!....................you cant play Tadic, Redmond and Boufal at the same time..............it does not work looks exciting on paper, really poor in practice just play Boufal in place of Tadic for the next 5 games and see how that develops. Tadic is soooo annoying plenty of talent very little ever seen cant take a penalty for toffees , cant hit the target from more than 3 yards he`s had his chance give him a rest and tell him that unless he takes his chance when he is picked next that he no longer has a future with us. not sure of how I would set my team up but I would like to see us play with 2 strikers at home against anyone but the big 5 we must take the initiative at home and really get at these mid to lower table teams must get rid of this most boring team to watch in the premier league since 2015 stat.........as revealed on TalkSh1t

Talking of people never watching games or actually going to matches if you think that we did not play a more high tempo game under Koeman than we did Puel than it is you that is deluded. That rubbish that I had to endure last year was slow and turgid and not like either MP Mk1 or Koemans. When Koeman 1st arrived he did play the same as MP MK1 and it took him a season to stamp his own style on the team as well as losing 1or 2 key players and replacing them with his own. I do however agree that Koeman developed his side into a good counter attacking set up but they still had more energy off the ball than Puels lot did last season It just goes to show that football is a game of opinions and we could all watch exactly the same game but could come up with our own individual analysis of the match if ever you get to St Marys you will find me in my ST seat in Itchen North come and say hello

Having now appointed Pellegrino and listened to all the experts say that his usual tactics are the high press and full energetic displays along the same line as MP mk1 and Koeman. I am a lot happier that we will return to this style of play rather than the turgid rubbish we watched under Puel. However this does highlight one or two issues that the current squad cannot play this type of high tempo closing down high pressing game. when you look at it logically can you answer the following doubts. Tadic not energetic enough to play this way JWP not energetic enough or fit enough Boufal luxury player Super Stevie Davis has played this style before albeit a couple of seasons ago age might be a factor Classie cant last 90 minutes of a turgid Puel game PEH the same as Classie Redmond not fit enough now a couple of these might be redeemable but in reality we really only have Romeu capable of playing this way in midfield so if we are going to go down the MP mk2 route then we really need to invest in high tempo energetic midfielders.
