Very sad saw him a few times in the early years. The first time in 1968 at The Concord with about 250 people there. It was the week "With a Little Help from my Friends" broke into the top 20 and he was very excited about it...the following week it made number 1. The Grease Band were a great stomping band too...perfect foil for his style in the early days. RIP Joe.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Everton
lifeintheslowlane replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I thought Clyne's cross was marginally better as it was delivered whilst Baines was wrestling him. Not only did Clyne show great upper-body strength but he delivered the perfect cross, dragging it back from the goal line to a position 10 yards out, which didn't look possible from where I was sitting in The Chapel. Perfect for Long to drop it down for Pelle to put the finishing touch. That's not to denigrate Davis, it was a lovely skill perfectly delivered...lucky to have seen two pieces of great skill rewarded with two goals -

A lot of good performances today but Long my MOM, just a thorn in Everton's side all afternoon. Much more effective playing alongside Pelle through the middle. Clyne's set-up for the second goal was COS (cross of the season) -
6 Music's take on the top 15... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/s790szKLSc1l3n9Fqwxl9F/6-musics-albums-of-the-year-2014 I have 8 of these but although I like a lot of them I'm a little disappointed this year there's no clear winner for me.

AA is godsend for body-language experts...Anyone like to have a shot at analysing that video. Failed to mention their squad outnumbers the number of cones available for training sessions...bummer. It's either cut the squad or hope for more cones for Christmas.

Time for...Albums of the year 2014?? Still thinking about them myself.

Not really good looking enough for our midfield sad to say.

This is mine a 1958??.... -
It's always nice to come over here when the mainboard goes into meltdown mode. You can always rely on the fishy few to lighten the mood and to put our football world into perspective. Deep breath...and relaaaax.

Could I be the first in this thread to post the traditional picture of Baby Cheeses?
-
Yep but he has a better touch than you with emoticons.

Peter Green casually fills 3 minutes 45 seconds with spine tingling raw emotion. ...and not a catchy riff in sight.

I have both boxed sets...it's all you need for the Alternative Christmas...wonderfully inventive original along with great interpretations of old traditionals...

They seem to factor in all the costs in time/money/convenience/inconvenience and forget the most important element...a FULL game of football. How ironic is that?
-
...and that's the price you pay! It's no more sanctimonious than you telling us what sacrifices you have to make to attend games.
-
Yep the only reason I have to sit in the traffic is because of all the ars***s who leave early...it's the price we supporters have to pay to thank our players as the leave the pitch. I hope you early leaving "supporters" are grateful we do that for you.

They all do it...another good cover is by Eels.

For those of a certain vintage... and for the others this is what you missed. [video=youtube;0yq-Fw7C26Y]

I think it would have made even better reading if he had published after adding a chapter on his dismissal as first team coach: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/macca-leaves-pompey-1-6457718

Haha...yeah definitely still wet behind the ears.

Why do we have to suffer Owen's verbal diarrhea on BT...it dribbles out of his mouth incessantly. Anyone know how long his contract runs.
-
To put the game in perspective you have to remember, "Rome wasn't built in a day"...do you remember how long and how much money was spent to get Man City where they are today? There were several seasons that, despite their expenditure they looked to be marking time. We're doing well...you have to expect the occasional set-backs against stronger sides. We dropped 3 points...it happens.

Listen to your mum...as we all know she knows best If you're in touch with your emotions this could quite quite possibly reduce you to a blubbering wreck...it does me every time. For those who are unaware Astor Piazzolla was the Jimi Hendrix* of modern Tango. *Poor analogy but a spectacular innovator.

OK...In no particular order. Hejira - Joni Mitchell Illinois - Sufjan Stevens Figure 8 - Elliott Smith Jordan The Comeback - Prefab Sprout Tango Zero Hour - Astor Piazzolla
