  1. I caught a bit about the programme on Radio Solent this morning. One of the female reporters who was covering the story last June was talking about the meeting where the documentary producer was shouted down and apparently prevented from putting his points across. She said yes there was a lot of shouting at the beginning of the meeting...feelings were running high but then things quietened down and he was allowed to addressed the audience. If you watched the programme that definitely was not the way that indecent was depicted in the editing. The producer said to the woman reporter at the end of the meeting that he felt harassed and intimidated...she said you haven't been to many of these kind of meetings have you. You should have been at the one about cycling events in the New Forest.
  2. Jeez...any other sticks we can beat Pelle with?
  3. A few look like fish out of water...but they're being asked to paint subject out of their comfort zones so it should soon sort out the genuine talent.
  4. Looks like I'll be watching it on my own.
  5. What a con!!
  6. I think "gone to ground" means you send in "The Terriers" (Hudderfield) to flush out "The Foxes" (Leicester) so possibly it will be a relevant analogy next season.
  7. It annoys me when discussing Champions League contenders Michael Owen can't quite get Sou...kak, South...kak kak, Mumtun...kak kak kak out. Last Sunday whilst talking on the subject he managed to talk around the "S" word without naming us. Nasty speech impediment.
  8. For a footballer shooting yourself in the foot is not a good move...he'll probably learn that too late.
  9. Looks a cracker this year!
  10. Dumb down/talk up from commentators. Now anything struck with force is a great shot or a great header whether it's on target or well wide. FFS a header that sails over the bar isn't a great header...I continually shout at the screen
  11. I never watch this kind of thing...Masterchef, The Great British Bake Off etc but I'm going to watch this one. I'm not an painter myself...photography is my hands-on art but I do find the artistic process of painting fascinating. I hoping they unearth some genuine talent on this programme...one elgalatarian thing about painting, it brings out the critic in everyone This is a nice illustration of "the process" [video=youtube;qHo-KyNtOnQ]
  12. I used to love festivals but the passage of time has meant I'm too set in my physical comfort zone to suffer the privations of third-world facilities. Also the advent of multiple stage festivals means you have to plan your weekend like a military operation and still miss performers you'd have liked to have seen. The one stage festivals meant you and your mates set out your pitch in front of the stage and you were there all weekend. Now it's a bun-fight to get a prime spot every couple of hours. As for personal dislikes you have to go with it...could experience an Epiphany and actually find yourself a convert.
  13. You have to ask yourself...are we missing something here. Are the lure of fresh training ground cones something we have forgotten in our quest for excellence?
  14. Went in 1977 and stayed in The Consulate Hotel on W. 48th Street, just off Broadway...$23 for a double...bit shabby but clean. Check before you go to see if it's still there...prices might have changed too.
  15. Whoops yeah Hazards...what a blooper for an Inde fan: "Aspects of Love" haha. Yep I've just taken a risk on the new one.
  16. Ah...ghosts you never lay...they haunt you all through your life... That's a beautiful song...is the album up to that standard? I have "The Crane Wife" and Aspects of Love" but for some reason didn't buy the follow ups.
  17. I couldn't be lighter.
  18. Isn't it time to lock this petty divisive thread...it's just an inconsequential footnote in this incredible season and makes everyone who whines at the other look equally small.
  19. Watching Shaw this evening...looks like he's playing amongst a bunch of strangers. Weird.
  20. This month's "All Clear" announcement prior to next month's "All Clear" announcement.
  21. I think it's because there's been no game this weekend to occupy the intelligentsia so trivia takes on a seemingly greater importance.
  22. Don't know whether I sould have heard of this lady before...but I hadn't until yesterday. This is from her new album, out today. BIG pop music...I'm loving it
  23. Why am I getting "This video is not available" Jeff?
