Kelvin filled in ably and made a couple of great saves. Morgan was majestic, never flustered. Pelle linked play well although fluffing a couple of good chances was unlucky not to score...just needs a goal to set him off again. Toby a class act and like Morgan seems to make time and space for himself. MOTM though, Bertrand. He had a storming game, if the pundits don't feature him tonight exposing his bizarre exclusion from the England side you'll know there's something strange going on.

1) No 2) No 3) No Would be madness to recall someone who has made it clear he has no wish to play for us.

Never tire of listening to this...just incredible...bought the album on its first day of release. Couldn't face playing the album for nearly a year after he died.

Craig Charles played this very tasteful extended remix of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" on BBC 6 Music this afternoon. I like it a lot...starts slowly and develops... [video=youtube;E-2hSF7VJVI]

Seems to me he comes across as a normal person. Why do you have to face up to stupid questions all "nicey nicey smiley smiley"; sometimes a straight answer doesn't seem enough for some hacks. They'll go away and write whatever they like anyway.

Some promising albums coming soon. This is another, the second album from Nadine Shah...

You'll be there soon enough...if you don't drive too fast.

Wow...such a beautiful poignant song...lyrics in the Youtube notes...

The really alarming thing is kids have no real concept of mortality. The adrenalin rush you get from driving on the edge when you're older comes from fear rather than excitement.

I'm liking the Father John Misty album too. His previous album is worth a listen too.

The Big Painting Challenge - Sunday BBC1
lifeintheslowlane replied to lifeintheslowlane's topic in The Arts
Yeah it is unfair but this is TV and rather stupidly they're looking for a Jack or Jill of all trades. Look at most of the top artists throughout the history of art...did anyone say, "Hey Leonardo, that's a cracking landscape" -
Statutory this, statutory that...do we know what you get for breaking someone's leg, spitting on them, whilst passing comment on their ethnic origins? I'm not sure the punishment fits the crime anymore.

Yep...I do after the summer's comings and goings. I think the reason why we didn't sign a striker in the January window was the one we particularly wanted wasn't available at that time and we weren't keen on a risky second choice signing for big money...lord knows we still have two 12m misfits at the club. I trust them to do the right thing for the club...offer Morgan more, if he refuses sell him for as much as we can get. The fans and Morgan are going to have to be patient this summer.

To be honest we've all seen crazy, potentially leg braking tackles and other violent play over the years but strangely spitting is still considered the one big, disgusting taboo. On that note I vividly recall a Saints game at Wolves in March 1966. The spitting incident involved Dave Webb and the late Derek Dougan...it was played out infront of the Saints away support when the two players stood toe to toe after a typically tough exchange. Dougan spat directly in Webb's face...the Saints crowd went mad but Webb did nothing, the ref did likewise. Dougan went on to be an outspoken chairman of the PFA but I know there were many Saints fans who held him in contempt from that day onwards.

F***in brilliant...Todd Rundgren with Daryl Hall

Condescension from Hypo I think he means Lou.

United were crap all night...and get a late winner. Newcastle denied as clear a penalty as you could wish but neither ref nor linesman could see it. To add insult to injury I had to sit through a whole game of Michael Owen's inane drivel

Two points for clarification from last nights game
lifeintheslowlane replied to lifeintheslowlane's topic in The Saints
Surely the game should be restarted by the ball being given back to the team in possession at the interruption to play. Anything else is a nonsense in my opinion. -
Two points for clarification from last nights game: 1. Referee playing the advantage rule… In the second half of last night’s game on two separate occasions, with Saints in an advanced attacking position a player was clearly fouled. The ref waved advantage, even though the foul had knocked the attacker off-balance and subsequently made the defensive clearing up of the threat much easier. Play was not pulled back…no advantage had been gained and Palace cleared the threat without conceding a free kick. If the game is to be rid of diving at the slightest touch, players need to be rewarded for making the effort to stay on their feet by the reasonable enforcing of the advantage rule: If no advantage gained, play is brought back and restarted with a free-kick. I have no sympathy for referees, they have made a rod for their own back…the rules exist and not implementing them make the likelihood of exaggerating contact even more likely. 2. Stopping play for an injured player… A Palace player was injured in the run of play…ball cleared into our area and we set up an attack. Progressing well into the Palace half, play is halted for treatment to the injured player. On restart the ref gives the ball to us and we have to play it to Palace who set up their own attack and very nearly score, hitting the post. WTF is going on…the ref halts our attack to treat the opposition’s player and we have to give the ball to them on the restart. That cannot be the correct interpretation of the rules.

The Big Painting Challenge - Sunday BBC1
lifeintheslowlane replied to lifeintheslowlane's topic in The Arts
Some strong performances from the self portrait challenge in episode two. Young Claire Parker looks like the front runner at the moment...she seems to have a natural talent which I suppose appeals to most art lovers in that the brain takes a step back to allow instincts to take over. The Glaswegian, Paul Bell did well too. -
Dug this one out this evening from 2012. Crown and Treaty was my favourite album from that year and this live acoustic performance sums up Tim Eisenburg's massive talent...just a short time to wait for their new album, which will no doubt be criminally overlooked again.

Have a look at this free download: https://www.facebook.com/bookfacepurity?pnref=lhc Facebook don't want you to use it hence it's called Fluff Busting Purity and not Facebook Purity (FB threatened to sue). It allows you to tailor what you see on your Facebook page. It works in all the normal computer Internet browsers...not sure about smart phones...I don't own one.

Haven't watched the last episode of Wolf Hall yet but as the antithesis have a look at the high class rubbish of "House of Fools" (episode 2) the sight gags are hilarious...in tears watching on iPlayer this morning.

You knew...you just knew THAT was going to happen.

I think that is certainly a niche market they're aiming at...the Reliant Robin driving Liverpool supporter.
