I think you're all being totally unfair on Factless Allen and all at The Snooze. It's self defeating to feed the truth to the deluded...what you need to do to sell newspapers in the Portsea area is to feed the delusion and that's what they're doing. By doing that Allen is proving himself to be the real "red under the bed". Allen is propagating the Myth...the Myth that will prove to be their continuing downfall...that they are bigger than they really are. Hats off to you Agent Allen...it's all so clear now!

Needless drivel. I'm classless because I don't care. The important question here is who funded this pointless exercise while there are far more productive and worthy causes out there. I think this will probably make make me a tree-hugging liberal.

It's pointless doing an April Fools in this thread...no matter how ridiculous...it couldn't more ridiculous than the truth.

Well it will certainly be a relief to the few that they got a huge wedge for Matt Ritchie. What's that you say? Oh.....sorry

Hello Mr. Pot...have you met Mr. Kettle. FFS:rolleyes:

One thing I always find very odd...even on a day like Saturday when we had a huge amount of overnight rain and more in the morning...do they find a need to turn on the sprinklers to water the pitch.

Your mistake they're playing the PST...not Skatesmouth.

But that's JUST NOT FAIR!!

If he's a petrolhead you have to take him to Beaulieu...National Motor Museum is pretty good value. The Forest has a lot of olde worlde pubs which never fails to impress. Don't bother with Buckler's Hard...bit of a rip-off for not much to see IMO.

I think the secret to avoid the major trauma suffered by music lovers is not to listen to the main commercial radio stations, Radio One, shows like X-factor, The Voice, Britain's Got Talent etc, etc. It's not difficult for us...we don't have any kids or grand children so we please ourselves. I listen to Six Music which gives me my daily fix of old mixed with new without descending to the lowest common denominator. I've heard the names of some of this pop-pap but fortunately I'm not aware of ever hearing the likes of One Direction...I can honestly say I wouldn't know them if I heard them.

Well I'm in my early '60s and I did see a lot of these artists in their prime...not making a big deal of that...just my era. However I've kept on listening to new music and live bands because it's what moves me...I'm always excited to discover new music and then go and see it live. I suppose a rant is just that...it's what irritates you and what irritates me is having to go to Brighton or London to see bands I like because the local clubs don't book what I want to see. Remember the past but don't get stuck in it.

I'm not saying others shouldn't play their music...I have no objection with other artists interpreting other artists music but to hear it played note for note without the element of spontaneity is riding on the back of others. Play your own music...add a few covers, your own interpretations, as you say Jazz musicians do it very successfully. As for dressing and trying to look like the original bands too...don't get me started. I suppose I'm lamenting the lack of opportunities in medium sized local clubs to give opportunities to new artists like the original Concorde Club did when I was a youngster. You turned up to hear a new band...you didn't know what you were going to hear...it was exciting. Some good, some not so, some became legends...I don't see it happening in this city anymore...tribute bands exist to pay bills for artists and promoters.

OK my big rant is cover bands. I saw someone write the other day that they went to see Australian Pink Floyd..."They were as good as the real thing." NO THEY F***ING WEREN'T!! If you can't tell the difference between innovation and imitation you don't deserve to see the real thing. They just don't get it.

Another confused observer here. Why are we talking about PPs and in particular the extra £4m as part of the purchase funding to buy the club. Surely this money belongs to the club in administration and not to the prospective buyer.

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
lifeintheslowlane replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
...yep along with the accidental deliberate, ball to hand, hand to ball catch all combo. -
What a prized bit of mean-spirited refereeing the send their keeper off. ...and what a bit of mean-spirited play by De Gruzzman to deny Dyer his hat-trick.

I left a game at The Dell early...ONCE. I think it was reasonable...we were losing 0-5 versus Leicester. I'd been stood in the uncovered Archers Road end for the whole game in the pouring rain and after Peter Shilton scored for Leicester I felt I just couldn't take any more. With 5 minutes to go I walked out only to miss our only goal of the game, scored by Big Ron. I've never done that again.

If that's the case aren't Hall's inaccuracies, commercially defamatory? Perhaps their lawyers should be asking questions of him.

...I wouldn't care if he was green and came from the planet Zog...he's obviously getting his message across to the players.
