I remember my dad picking me up from infant school and rushing home to see him play in Wednesday afternoon internationals...Tom on one wing and Stanley Matthews on the other. RIP to a footballing legend.

FFS Mr Pedantic strikes again and turns a light-hearted topic into a personal crusade...Jeez!

When journalists are under so much pressure to fill column inches, (both in print and online) they run with any scrap they can find. Some managers know that and will supply the soundbites needed to set the ball rolling. It's only the gullible punter who will take it seriously...you only have to look at some of the ridiculous topics started here by the usual trolls to know how well it can work.

I've had a very relaxing last few weeks having put the main Troll of this board on ignore so I've not given the "cut-off point" a second thought.

Absolutely...always been an integral part of the modification process...it's going to be massive!

Stop bickering and enjoy the moment when it happens... -
Perhaps I didn't use the right analogy...better to say, the current need to know and share everything with everyone. Past times we didn't need to know the minutiae of the running of the club...now not knowing it all is taken as a hidden agenda rather than the normal running of a business.

It's amazing how little in a Troll's life is open to debate...every point they make is presented as fact. Don't argue, just put the t**ts on ignore.

Why the need to know...why the need to be reassured...why the hand-wringing anxiety? IMO this is a modern social networking thing where people take pictures of the meal they're eating and post it to the world...it's immature...it's needless. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride, there is plenty left in this season to enjoy...FA Cup this weekend.

That's a nailed on fact is it? We might, we could, it's possible and we should give it a f***ing good go...it's the best chance we've had for over ten years. -
Official Statement on Sam Gallagher
lifeintheslowlane replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very sad for the young lad and his family. I'm sure he'll get the support he needs at this time. RIP Richard Gallagher and deepest sympathy to Sam and his family. -

I'll dust off my Doré illustrations and we can all have an Arthurian knee-up. -
Well that's more likely than Connelly scoring against them for the Skates. Typical cheating there...that means they're fielding one extra man in every game against their relegation rivals.

Yep, good article. Personal peeves....apostrophes (double check...one proof read isn't enough...a couple still missing) and nicknames like "Poch", "MoPo"...we Saints fans are familiar with them but you're writing to educate others who probably won't be familiar with them. Also a journalist using nicknames isn't very professional, unless they are writing for the Daily Star or the Portsmouth News. -
Yeah us lads in the early days could shatter glass at 500 paces with that war cry. That's what made The Antelope Ground such a fortress for us in the '80s and '90s.

Facebook: is it a good or a bad thing?
lifeintheslowlane replied to Halo Stickman's topic in The Lounge
It's a good hobby tool...building a network of people with in depth knowledge of your subject is great. Expands your horizons to interact with intelligent people but you have to keep a hold of it and limit who can share your information. If you want more control in what you see and what others see this is a useful add-on. Bonus is that Facebook hates this. -
Jeez that post by GS is beyond obsessive...frightening.

I enjoy this saga Topic...endless fun and quite frankly an illuminating and frightening insight of just what can go wrong with a football club. The one thing I can't understand is why any Saints fan would regularly post comments on the Snooze website...if you're still doing it for god save STOP! You're making yourself look stupid! It's not big and it's not clever...have some class, like the rest of us Nutjobs.
