The Silent Assassin! I had the privilege of being cut-down from behind by Denis in the first minute of a Sunday League game some years ago. Like a true gent he helped me up and asked me if I was OK.

Yes I think it's an amazing turnaround. I'm not a big advocate of "supporter on the board" representation but I would like to think the board are receptive to a ground-swell of opinion. As an old fart I'd like to see the next generation of local & support from further afield being encouraged by a reduction in match-day ticket prices. It's now apparent modern football finance isn't based on maximising income through the turnstiles...it's revenue from TV coverage, sponsorship and commercial diversification. If "the brand" is to be expanded and the standing of the club enhanced to match, an expansion of the stadium in the future would be an announcement of intent. At current prices our inability to fill the stadium is the only failure in what has been an exciting beginning to a new era in the club's history. Surely the club should be making some move to encourage filling the current capacity and maybe an aggressive reduction in pricing to fill a modestly enlarged St Marys in the not too distant future.

As much as I was ****ed with Poch's leaving and the graceless style in which he did it, I find these hate campaigns embarrassing. They are a negative distraction while we should be concentrating on supporting our team...save your breath for Saints songs. The best way to stick it to the so called Judas is to beat his team. Saints for a 0-2 win.

Maybe we can launch an MBE campaign for Franny. Most MBE awards are the result of recommendations...write to our local MPs and apply pressure. Would be great to see his efforts rewarded in The New Years Honours.

What I don't understand is the people who believe we had to agree to granting Morgan a move at the next transfer window to get him to play for us. That is a nonsense, any club that did that would be shooting themselves in the foot. If you have a player under contract you don't need to make promises against your interests. Even at the end of this season he still has 2 years left on his contract...he goes when we're good and ready or he signs an extension. I'm not saying that is what happened to keep him playing for us but I do bridle against people who make a pronouncement that it is obvious we had to agree to granting him a move. It's insulting to the club and it's insulting to Morgan.

I think by the time the January window opens, the players we lost during the summer will be showing other players why they should look very carefully before taking a big money signing to move their careers up a notch. Many a Billy Big Ball's careers have foundered on an "exciting" move. Big Club, big squads, big competition. If it's all about, money, status and ego they will still go...let's hope we can have the kind of season where they will see they can stay and still progress their careers.

I know some people will find it difficult financially to donate but even just the price of a pint or a packet of fags will be enough. I find it hard to believe there's a Saints Fan out there who won't be donating. This must be the most amazingly difficult physical challenge ever performed by anyone associated with the club and all you have to do physically is to pull your finger out.
