...but it became "chique" to watch Hertha a couple of years ago, when they made it to this Bundesliga for the first time in ages. In the 90ties, they played in front of 3.500 in that gigantic ground. But attendances generally are pretty good in the Bundesliga and 2nd division...

First off, you better call them "Hamburger SV" when you're there... Which game do you want to watch ? They usually sell out their matches, besides the away end as visiting supporters tend to boycott their top-of-the-league ticket prices...

Does it really matter if Kirkland really has been hurt or not ? Anyone remember that Birmingham - Villa match where a City supporter ran onto the pitch, touched the Villa keeper and was mocking him ? You should be punished if you run onto the pitch, whether you just touch or even punch him. Just alone because every other football fan around will be suffering from stricter security measures being set up. It's currently happening in Germany right now.

I'd like to know if those people saying "it's just a kit", "it's just the stripes gone" or "don't understand what the fuss is about" would also say "no need to get upset, it's just a ground" if we should start playing our home matches at Fratton Park. Crest, kit, city, history + ground are the unique characteristics that build a club's identity.

Don't like it and won't get one. Interesting read, though as there's not such a thing as "shirt history / tradition" over here. I'd love if there was, as every club changes its shirt every season completely, plain awful.
