  1. Anyone finding weird that these news are coming out now? Call it conspiracy theory, but I find that a lot of circumstances are coming together at a very strange time. Saturday's refereeing (couldn't stop noticing the special treatment some Boro players recieved from the ref), Sky commentators' insistence on a final day battle and another team's chances, these news concerning financial fair play which clearly affect us more than the majority of the other teams... I'm starting to wonder if some team in London is not using its geographical (and therefore influential) position to try to create a "dirty" competitive advantage for this weekend's showdown...
  2. Also does anyone have an idea as to when the season ticket sales will start? I'm a very recent resident of this great city of yours and you'd be very keen on getting one regardless of what happens on Saturday
  3. 95th minute handball after a foul on the keeper is fine. Just get it in. Being a fellow countryman and given his few unlucky moments recently I'd be especially happy if Fonte scores the winner/opener.
  4. I think we need another first-choice CB to compete with Hooiveld and Fonte, and we definitely need another full-back, preferably to the right. As for CM, I'm looking forward to seeing how a Cork-Schneiderlin midfield would get along in the PL (feel a bit guilty talking about it before Saturday haha) but another CM is definitely necessary (maybe some competition for Chaplow too?).
  5. Think Lambert still needs to prove if he's up for the big stages, as in fact almost 100% of our squad need to if we get promoted, as I think there are very few who have had a decent run in the Premier in their careers so far (only remember Davis, and it wasn't a trouble-free time at Sunderland). So far he's proven to be up for the Championship, but apart from this being his first season at this level (can't thank him enough for what he's done though), the Premier is a world away from the FL and it's not like he'll be recieving as many balls from Lallana or Chaplow as he recieves now. A striker may be good at finishing but may lack the skill or creativity to create chances for himself, which he will have to do more in the Premier as we won't be dominating play as we've done in the last 2 seasons.
