  1. Agree with the Puncheon-Chaplow sub. But we lost two points from the Lambert-Do Prado (Mayuka?!?!?!) substitution. We lost pressure on their back 4 and defensive midfield and gained really nothing from it. What a way to celebrate the renewal of your contract, drink driving and a pair of useless performances.... And as I repeated to my fellow fans in the stand, 7 MILLION POUNDS FOR RODRIGUEZ?!?!?!
  2. Not on BBC Sport, not believing it. HE WILL PLAY TOMORROW! Right I'm off to bed.
  3. Been there, nice place, the views to the lake are quite amazing...imagine the smell of sulphur may put you off sometimes though. Love NZ to bits. I'd love to be able to live there for at least year of my life in the future.
  4. Aren't we all just feeling a bit guilty for all the stick we've given the lot down the road considering their story, and desperately trying to make a point to their online community/twitterers?
  5. It was a loan by our owners, and it now means they effectively own the club!!! You seem to be the kind of person that if told there was an earthquake coming, would just tear his house down to avoid any harm before even it happened.
  6. I think we should put a strong side. Leeds are looking big this year and at home they are strong. I also think that apart from PL safety, a Cup final presence (and hopefully win) would really catapult our club into another dimension this season.
  7. Also it maybe important to point out that we've had no transfer income this season yet our expenditure has increased considerably (not only on transfers but also wages and other things). Last season we didn't sign that many players and we had Chamberlain leaving for Arsenal, and the financial gap between League One and the Championship isn't as deep as it is to the Prem. So maybe we just need to help cash flow through these first months up until the extra Prem revenue comes by. The Liebherr's had to dig deep to take us up here. Not surprised that now they want to see Cortese deliver by himself. They will also want something back (hence the conversion of their loan into equity), which is only fair. We are probably in the only division of English football where a club can safely be self-sufficient and yet achieve higher and better things, so they probably want to see this happen. Now please, don't even think about caring about what they say down the road.
  8. The truth is, in our wide, open play philosophy, a holding midfielder is CRUCIAL. It happened last year and it's happening this year, only we've tactically corrected it but we've now got both players who can do that position out (Cork and Schneiderlin). Our back 4 (and quite often our 2 CBs) are getting ran at far too easily and far too much, and this forces them to either commit or allow the opposition too much time to either shoot or figure out a pass, meaning they'll always be at a loss.
  9. I still think we spent too much money on Rodriguez considering what I've seen from him. That chance in the first half for 0-2 is unforgivable. And I'm sorry but I expected a bit more from 7 million pounds than 2 goals against lower league opposition (1 penalty even) in all of the official games we've played so far this season.
  10. Midfield ball-watching....
  11. We would've done the extra defensive midfielder (Morgan) instead of Rodriguez being useless and looking depressed upfront.....
  12. Agent promotion talk.
  13. "Excellent point. There are people out there who seem to forget what Chainrai has done to small creditors i.e. not fulfilling his promise. In fact he even went to war with CSI not to pay up. Having sat in every creditors meeting during both administrations it is disgusting how local people and local businesses continue to be treated." Niel Jet on final approach course to Reality International Airport?
  14. Clearly the club has grown faster than what anyone thought. Otherwise it's hard to understand why we're so worried about getting a decent deal going for players like Dickson. Obviously the initial big expenditure gave results faster than expected, and we'd still be at a considerable loss by letting them go.
  15. But we were established in the Prem. From the most fanatic supporter to any tourist in the city, they knew Saints were in the PL. The plunge into League One and admin got us out of the lights for long enough for some locals to even stop checking on our scores or visiting SMS.
  16. Expect Gazza to play today, not sure about Everton, but it is important that we give him some shielding in this early stage of his career. Goodison is a tough place and far from the likes of Dagenham or Rochdale so if Boruc does not have a massive beer belly we should play him. 14 clean sheets for Fiorentina last season suggest he is still in form to be our number one. Maybe we can play him at other full away crowds later on in the season, definitely expect him to get some more games. Right now, it should be Boruc, but if Gazza proves to be top choice in training then why not?
  17. I love his shots. It's like the ball gets stuck in the same time frame for ages once he hits it.
  18. Brighton, Bournemoth, Aldershot or whoever else exists in the South apart from Pompey are not our rivals. Proof of that is we have a history of cooperation when it gets to players. Several former and actual Saints players have played for Brighton and vice-versa (Hammond and Harding the most recent clear examples), and same with Bournemouth (if they really were our rivals would they have accepted to be the starting point of our Academy's rising star in Lallana?). Just local fans excited by recent league clashes, which for most are very if not completely unusual in their lifetime. And trying to find London clubs to get a rivalry going is just ridiculous. Reminds me of the Brighton-Palace hate, one if not the most nonsensical rivalry in sport.
  19. For a player to reach that valuation, the club has to be looking (and achieving) further up. So let's hope this happens
  20. We should all vote for Fox. After all his substitution was key for to our change of fortunes. Although by my chain of thought we should be voting for Richardson instead... Clyne for me!
  21. There is something unusually neat and composed about his game. Also seems to transmit a lot of confidence to the other players, especially his midfield partners. Keep bringing it on Gaston!
  22. Unless he was included in the 25 that were given a shirt or in the development squad ones in August then he can't play for us until January, which is when we get the possibility to give him a number again.
  23. If anyone has a last season home kit shirt that is willing to sell please PM me!
  24. Do not want to interfere with Colinjb's intentions but if someone else is willing to sell their last season's home shirt please tell me!
  25. You mean like your chairman?
