  1. Tim Sherwood likes this.
  2. I'm looking forward to seeing how many groups of fans at the training grounds holding up "Sky ruined football" (or similar) banners like the few (Palace, I think?) who did back in August!
  3. Anyone looking for a ticket for tomorrow's game? My pal has to work now so can't go, so I have a spare half way up block 4 available. Face value £12, no away fans or neutrals. Will need to pop to the Waterfront or Joshua Tree to pick it up (we haven't decided which pub to settle in yet). Drop me a PM if you'd like it.
  4. That reminds me. I have some Tango in the fridge.
  5. Great article St Garrett, I enjoyed reading that. Personally I see the biggest threat between now & the end of the season coming from the likes of Palace, West Brom, Sunderland and Stoke as well as the bottom 3. With the top clubs losing to each other with little consistency then those results could be key. I see clubs such as Villa, Swansea, Newcastle and West Ham going on slumps so they could be the more stable 3 point bankers. It's going to be an interesting end to an interesting season, bring it on. COYS!
  6. Problem you'll have is that once you do get to drive away the M6 southbound will be chocka block. Both sets of fans will be using it to get home.
  7. 4-3-3 Forster. Clyne. Fonte. Alderweireld. Bertrand. Wanyama. Schneiderlin. JWP. Tadic. Mane. Pelle. 3-5-2 Forster Gardos. Fonte. Alderweireld. Wanyama. Schneiderlin. Clyne. Bertrand. Tadic Mane. Pelle.
  8. Pfft, they'll vote no. TV debates mean nothing. If they do vote yes though can they take the north with them? In fact, feck it. The sooner the M4 becomes a shark infested trench the better!
  9. Palace away a few years back nearly got naughty when a few pals & I encountered some racist Saints fans making, shall we say, derogatory comments about the appearance of a number of non-white locals in Norwood whilst in the pub beforehand. *****s! We were going to knock the mugs back to their posh village before they twigged, drank up and left sharpish. No time for any of that nonsense regardless of what shirt they're wearing. Charlton away on Boxing day back in L1 was one that I witnessed and helped break up. It was in the Antigallican pub about 1/4hr before kick off when the police came in to tell us it had been called off at the last minute. A young-ish London based Saint who was quite tanked started joking at the top of his voice that he only had to get a bus home and would be back in his local in half an hour, which was a bit insensitive really considering there were no trains and those who'd travelled up from Hampshire had to wait till much later for their coach, and get all the way to Victoria to catch it! A few of these - rather sizeable - fellas took exception to this gloating and commenced a heated tirade at the individual. I was one of 5 blokes who stopped them laying in to the lad. Naturally I kept it quiet that I too would be home within the hour by virtue of 2 buses!
  10. Four stops for me, can't say I'm particularly grumbling about that draw either! I'll be going.
  11. La la la la la Lallana La la la la la Lallana La la la la la Lallana Who's a greedy b@stard now
  12. Can't believe no-ones mentioned Cody Cropper yet, I think he is easily good enough and ready to be challenging for the first team. Forster has come here to be #1, that's pretty much nailed on, and surely that spells the exit for Artur? Don't get me wrong, I'd love him to stay and fight for his place, but he's good enough to be first choice elsewhere and will probably ask to leave. Point being that Forster as first choice with Cropper as back up is the answer. Oh, and Gazzaniga can do one as well!
  13. I'm smack bang in Palace territory. If they do better than us I won't hear the end of it!
  14. Good shout, this. Half my family's from South Devon and I know most of it like the back of my hand. Not so much Cornwall, though. Bigbury is one of my fave spots actually, it's a great beach. However it's definitely small village territory which you did say you're not after. Here's a few recommendations from me with some more built-up areas, hope they help. Goodrington: Just south of Paignton. Small town but has Torbay on its doorstep. Beach used to be really nice, but I am going back well over a decade since last time I went there. Charming Brixham nearby too. Teignmouth: Reasonable sized town with nice bars & restaurants. Beach has a great old skool pier and a long stretch of sand too. Plenty for kids to do. Also some great coastal walks alongside Brunel's railway (if you like that sort of thing) Dawlish: Another small town, a bit more charming than Teignmouth but with a smaller beach. However, close by Dawlish Warren is a great beach. Coastal walks go through here too, ending at Warren.
  15. The Saints Mad firm would cut the lot of ya!
  16. Great article. The "Why you need to know him" paragraph does it for me. Bring on the new season if this does finally get announced!
  17. Not implausible. Witsel has a release clause, he was signed for 26m euro with add ins that haven't been triggered. I would expect they are based on international appearances. We will probably have to pay off those triggers also, plus bear in mind if we pay 14m sterling that is getting on for 19-20 million euro so good business for zsp too.
  18. Yes. This! Outstanding! Sadly I doubt many will have heard of Sham 69, let alone the song.
  19. Action Man, I can't PM you. Waiting to hear back from a pal as I want to go and was about to buy a lower tier ticket. If he says yes we'd be up for buying your tickets. Can you perhaps email me at ceegeegee@live.com please? Cheers.
  20. Saints Mad is the best Saints message board out there. It's a good craic when it gets going.
  21. This. Deploying Wanyama in front of a strengthened defence with Cork alongside him allows Scheiders to push a little further forward, potentially in to more of a playmaker role which, IMHO, he is more than capable of doing. Our midfield would be much more dominant for it which would surely mean more chances on target, not to mention the flexibility of being able to reshuffle the formation at any time to suit the pattern of the game.
  22. Its just been reported on 5live that we're in for Claudio Nohistorio from Benfica. Now that would be a interesting.....
  23. Swansea away please.
  24. I went there slightly off season but enjoyed it nonetheless. When it comes to chosing tours / day outs I'd recommend the trip up to Mount Monchique if they're running? It's a steady climb up to the highest point in the Algarve with stunning views to boot, one of those "worth it when you get up there" kinda things. On the way up they take in a small but pleasant town with a castle-like thing at the top and on the way back stop at a few restaurants. This was the half day tour and it was just about right for us, if you're taking kids then I'm guessing that'd be the same. There is a full day option but you really don't need it. If you're staying anywhere near the enormous "Paradiso De Albufeira" then there's a crackin' chinese right next to it which I'd recommend, mainly because it has 2 big screens (one at each end) religiously showing football! The food wasn't bad either.
  25. Back in the 00's we were involved in the Battle of Maze Hill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battle_of_Maze_Hill I remember this well. I wasn't part of the event but was with many Saints fans at the game & in the Antigallican pub prior to it. Some Charlaton fans I know still don't like us because of this claiming Saints were the perpetrators and eventual victors, even though the article suggests otherwise and concludes to suggest mutual respect. Mugs, the lot of 'em. Both sides.
