Lambert always a Southampton fan loves the club. Worried about certain aspects of Southampton, said owner (KL) has hired certain people she thinks are the best for the club but we'll have to wait and see (hint hint)... Says we have a good manager though. Would not celebrate a goal against us.

Hopefully MS has found his head and re-attached it for this afternoon.

Explains it. Radio Solent hasn't got anything on it either.

YouTube just says "starting soon..."

More important than any player, more important than any manager was The Don. Drive, commitment, passion and determination make the club the best it could be. Happy Birthday. Please come back one day.

This...His passion. His drive. His desire to win. The don was a superb chairman. Hearing Ralph talk about 'rosters' and 'infrastructure' just rubs salt in the wounds.

CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.
O_RLY replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Cortese was the most important person to ensure continued success and progression. Everything happening now is just to be expected when you lose the driving force behind the whole project. -
Legend, still has a lot to offer even if he increasingly becomes the super sub. Happy blated Birthday

It was at its peak before it became Saints Web...can't remember the old URL...back in the day when Keith ran the site. Less bed wetters.

Some people have no respect to those who played such a vital role in our rise from league 1. Kelvin is one of those who earned his new contract with years of excellent work in the lower leagues when he could have moved to a premier league team he was loyal to us. As club captain he will do a lot for the lads on the training ground and in the dressing room and is a key figure. He isn't out best goalkeeper and some might say he isn't capable backup, however I don't see how you can begrudge someone his contract who did so much for the club and behind the scenes probably still does... In answer to your question: I want the majority of angry saints fans to sleep on it, get off the managers back for picking a team capable of winning if they could be bothered, blame the players who let everyone down by playing so poorly in a big game, give MoPo and the lads support to finish the season strong and let them show what they can do.

Spot on.

Some of you lot on here are deluded. If the team played to its potential and lost then you have to look at management - was it tactics/selection. HOWEVER...the team out today did not play to their potential, a lot of poor performances from players who should have been desperate to win a cup and their poor performance on the pitch is their fault and therefore today has to be the fault of the players. You could then argue were they not motivated, but if a footballer for our club cannot motivate themselves to be up for a game like this then they should not be wearing the Southampton shirt so again I can't blame this on MoPo. The players out there today let down the manager, the fans and their team mates. So many people on here seem to think players are invincible and love using MoPo or any manager for that matter as a scapegoat. A legend known as Nigel Adkins once said: Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard. - Our talent did not work hard today so was never in with a chance.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
O_RLY replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Yes he is a world class CM. -
I have Danny Higginbotham as Saints secret Santa on an old fanzine I have. Hope this helps.

Ahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. First time this forum has made me laugh since the good old days of the Steve Mclaren phone thread, the O_RLY thread and the Peter Crouch can do anything thread.

I disagree. The last time we were really going places was under Hoddle and that is probably true, he makes a couple of good points on the England setup although nothing that hasn't already been said before by a million other people. I still don't like him but I do agree with his view on this.

This is not how it works in Football Manager... If a player signs a new contract with a different club after agreeing a transfer fee it invalidates his old contract, he doesn't get paid up. Sometimes players can agree to move club only if the old clubs pays a % of wage for the remainder of their old deal so as not to drop wage. If the club chooses to terminate the contract of the player it must pay up the remaining contract.
