i bet when u play FM12 u pick ur team based on value, u gotta use the assistants reports transfer fees are so subjective and so many things influence a price tag, like contract expiry, the selling club, the buying club, position, and finally ability. just look at some of the dealings last summer. downing and young were both at the same club, both left attacking midfielders/wingers, young went for £16m, and downing was around £20m. now you can't tell me downing is worth £4m more than young. that's one whole rory delap, or 2x M. Svenssons, or 5x Jack Corks!! but that's what liverpool paid, it's a market and each product is unique, to a point. and there will be a handful of players who go cheap every summer because of clauses written into their contracts, be it a relegation release clause, or one that kicks in a minimum fee release upon not being promoted

it's been a good year so there's quite a few for me, but lee's goal against derby, and the link up between lee and lambert for his volley against watford stand out as 2 of my favourite goals but chaplow's performance against preston in the league cup was brilliant to watch, he got stuck in, drove the team forward, and looked like he enjoyed every minute of it, which imo always makes watching a good player that much more entertaining. he's become a favourite of mine since that game, and i honestly think when he was out, we missed him more than anyone else who's been absent. and the 'boro game was over when he went off, we crumbled

which bit? the only never in there is the full potential bit ;-), so name one recent England player who has been consistently as good or better than his club performance? but as much as I want it to happen, I honestly don't think Lambert will get a call up. if Holt hasn't managed it I can't see it happening, but then again I have faith in hodgson. well, untill I see his first squad selection and team sheet. if Holt gets in the euro squad, maybe Lambert might sneak a game, but wots the point in giving someone a run out in a qualifier if they aren't realistically going to play a role in the finals. Lambert will be 32 by then. so, never... but I'll be happy to be proved wrong.

wow @ this thread is there really a need for all this, and it's clearly a carry over from the 80s. I wouldn't dress up for football, but each to his own. I always wear my replica shirt on top, because I wear our colours with pride. I'm actually much more embarrassed about seeing our fans who dont wear any colour. when I see banks of fans wearing stone island and Burberry instead of club colours I just think they look like ****s, not fans with pride. if they wanna wear that **** then just let them get on with it, but you don't see them on here saying everyone should dress up as clowns... and having a self styled football fashion police on this forum brings more shame on the club than any amount of clowns ever could.

don't u know the rules fir national selection? u get called up as a promising youngster, then cement ur place in the squad with some average performances and never fulfill your true potential. if u don't fall into this category u play a handful of games, play better than the rest if the team and lose ur place when the former group regain natch fitness. Lambert won't ever play for England, lallana will only play a 7 times despite getting 4 goals and 2 MoM awards
