  1. Perhaps so - we certainly didn't perform well that night. But I thought they showed good grit and desire that night. Think they had more possession and a similar number of shots to us. Game of opinions though...
  2. Completely agree. Tough games to come, and I believe they will finish well adrift of us.
  3. The reason we were poor that night was largely due to them getting their tactics spot on and stopping us playing. And when they did have the ball, they kept and used it well at times, and definitely deserved to win the match. If the match was a great spectacle with lots of free-flowing football then we would have won it comfortably 9 times out of 10, so of course they were going to try and avoid that.
  4. How childish. Bristol City played some great football at St Mary's and thoroughly deserved their victory. That is the Championship for you - this is probably the most competitive league in Europe. Nearly all the teams in this division play some very good football - the table is just there to show how often you do it. Saying 'losing twice against BC is awful' is an ignorant thing to say. A point at home to Bristol City would have been a good result on the night, whereas the draw at West Ham was a bad one. Each game has to be viewed in its own right. And surely you realise that every team in the country can use the 'if only...' argument...?
  5. Both are utterly bizarre comparisons.
  6. To compare MS to Oakley is laughable for me. Oakley was a loyal servant and a steady performer, but nothing more. Schneiderlin has the potential to become a top, top midfielder in Europe - infinitely more potential than someone like Lallana, who I think probably lacks the pace to shine at the very highest level. The fact that he couldn't get into the team at beginning of season still baffles me. Of all our players, I take far more joy in watching him play than anyone else. He is just as (if not more) important to the team as AL and RL for me, and will be better suited to playing at a higher level. Really, really hope we can hold onto him: Adkins needs to build our future around him and Cork. When he first arrived it was obvious he had class, but he was soft, basically - would duck out of headers and challenges, and seemed to lack the appetite for the physicality of the English game, and I feared he would become an 'Arsenal' player - fantastic on a good pitch, when given time and space to dictate, but a bottler when you have to go and play at the Stokes etc. But the improvement he has made in the last 2 years has been astonishing: I think the experience of League One football has greatly helped him. The improvement to that side of his game has greatly reduced the necessity for Hammond - although unlike many on here, I still like Hammond and think he has something to offer us.
  7. A few mentions of Falqué on here - had rather forgotten about that boy. Can't really see him getting on the pitch again unless injuries hit us quite badly. What did people make of him in his brief appearance against Leicester...?
  8. Quelle surprise... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17302329
  9. Lee scored one wonder-goal but has missed at least 3 or 4 simple chances too. I'm not knocking him - I think he could be very good for us, but I certainly think Sharp deserves a run in the team - something we haven't yet given him. don't think he's even played a full 90 yet. obviously, he missed the sitter against WHU, but if he doesn't get on the pitch a bit more quite soon, i think his confidence may start to drain away. He's a proven goalscorer at this level in a poor side: get his confidence up and he'll score a hatful for us.
  10. He hasn't been injured so he is 100% fit. The only way he can get any sharper (sorry) is to give him some more game-time.
  11. Agree with most on here: Chaplow was running on empty for last 20 mins on Saturday, and presumably Fox is out if groin injury. Cork also exhausted, as would anyone be had they covered the ground he did. Puncheon deserves another go if Lallana not fit. People have been moaning about him but he's been doing amazingly well for someone who hasn't played in a year. Give Sharp a game too. Davis Frazer Fonte Jos Harding Guly Hammond Morgan Puncheon Lambert Sharp
