  1. As has been said, Wanyama was immense for about 8-10 games a season (mainly away at the big boys), but Romeu is a much better option for the other 30 or so games a season, and should have played far more last year.
  2. Good to see that he's playing regularly (and scoring) for Blackburn. Never been convinced by him so pleased that he is getting some football and seemingly taking his chance.
  3. Don't be daft. You probably said the same when we sold Lallana. Yet, with that money, we bought Tadic and Mane - who we've just sold for £35m. You absolutely can afford to sell these players; it is lazy and naive to think there aren't better players elsewhere. Who had heard of Mane when we signed him?
  4. Schneiderlin played with class but he certainly didn't leave with it.
  5. I think it's an ok choice. Our centre backs are all sh*t so why take four? Cahill has proven time and time again that he's not good or quick enough for international football, but sadly he's still probably one of the top three centre backs we have. Let's just hope that Stones remembers what defending means before the summer and partner him with Smalling. I'd happily axe Henderson, Delph, Milner and Townsend. And I can understand that Roy wants to have a look at Wilshere before making a final decision - despite being a tw*t, we are probably a better team with him than without him.
  6. Are you being serious?
  7. If we'd had a goal disallowed for the Morgan 'push' on Clasie, I'd be livid. It's not a foul, just a mis-match. The Austin/Huth shout was not on target and there was no chance of anyone getting on the end of it anyway at that pace. Mane declined to pass the ball into the open goal in just the same way Simpson did for them later. We got what we deserved from yesterday. Having the better of the play does not equate to deserving to win - thank god. we dominated for large periods and created almost nothing. Leicester had better chances.
  8. Don't agree with Koeman on the penalty shouts. Huth's arm was down by his side, and to blame anyone but Mane for the first one is crazy. Just pass it into the empty half of the goal. Why he tried to chip it back across to the defender's side of the goal is beyond me.
  9. Progress but I still think £30 is too high. Should be £20. Now the cap for home tickets...
  10. First step is to try to reattach some shame to cheating, rather than calling it 'clever'. Then we need to start banning players for diving. We'd have a few months of teams not being able to field a side and I'd have to sympathy for them. Refereeing is actually quite easy if the players try to stay on their feet. Going down after marginal contact makes it harder for refs. Stay on your feet and it's easy to see the extent of the 'contact'. Of course, refs will also have to start giving fouls when players do this. They only have themselves to blame for that one.
  11. In other words, he's sh*te on the ball and far too one-dimensional...?
  12. He usually plays well against the big boys, when we typically spend more time defending and he can break up the play. IMO he is not worth his place in the matches (particularly at home) when the onus is on us to dictate play. Romeu is far, far better on the ball. He also clearly doesn't want to be here. If we can get half-decent money for him in the summer then I'd happily sell.
  13. No, total stitch-up.
  14. I also think this rule should come back - the ref should just be able to offer the extra ten yards but the attacking team should have the final say over whether it is enforced.
  15. Morgan is brilliant defensively, has two great feet, and can spread the ball wide with 50-yard passes very well. But is not an incisive passer in the middle of the park, under pressure and in tight spaces (as Clasie is). Those are the types of players the big teams need to break down stubborn visitors.
  16. Seems such an obvious fit for us that he must end up being a flop!
  17. I agree that he is pragmatic in defence, but for the early part of last season we attacked with far more pace than we ever saw under Pochettino. I never found us particularly entertaining under Pochettino. We were neat and tidy but far too often slow and predictable. And whilst we very often controlled the ball, we didn't actually control games that often. We also had better attacking players under Pochettino. But yes, it's a matter of opinion; I far preferred watching Heynckes' Bayern team to Guardiola's because the moved the ball so quickly and attacked at such pace, but obviously many would prefer Guardiola's team.
  18. Agreed. We should have won both of the last two games comfortably. We are still playing well and creating chances for large periods of matches. Yesterday was a horror-show for Wanyama and Koeman (and Mane to be honest - how thick can he be?), but we are not in the relegation dogfight that Dalek wishes we were in. That said, things will get harder and harder if we don't start finding the goals soon. I expect Clasie to really kick on next year, though why he still can't play 90 minutes is beyond me. It's hard not to appreciate Shane Long for all his work, but it would be a helluva lot easier to love him if he could finish. And for me, Koeman seems to be having a confidence crisis as much as any of the players. When he first arrived, the football we played was so much more enjoyable that what we saw under Pochettino (far, far, far too much passing for the sake of it without creating anything); we were attacking, direct, and always looked a threat. For some reason, he seems to have gone into his shell a bit and become far more defensively minded. Fans of any sport will always be far more understanding and accepting of their team losing if they tried to attack and entertain and it didn't come off. When you are losing as well as not trying to play on the front foot or entertain, that's when the patience of the fans will quickly dry up.
  19. Every post you make says we're going down. There is no need to remind anyone that that is what you think. We could remind you that you've been consistently wrong thus far. And I don't think we're in a relegation battle. Yes, we could get sucked into one, but we're not.
  20. Agree with all of that except that Bertrand wasn't a threat. He got forward very well and worked his socks off, but his delivery was absolutely dreadful. I think Norwich will go down.
  21. Agree with bits. It's also pretty much the first time I feel much of the criticism on here aimed at Koeman has been fair. Wanyama should have been off at half time, and Mane should have come on then too. Wanyama needs to go ASAP. If anyone wants him in January, sell him. Head has gone, and he has been very poor this season. I don't think we'll end up in a relegation battle though. We are in a very bad run of form, but we'll improve and pull away - we're still creating chances, we just don't have anyone who can finish. We need a big clear-out this summer. Davis, Stek (who has been good), Caulker, Ramirez, Wanyama, Pelle out. Cheap, experienced keeper in, a right back, someone to partner Clasie (who I thought played well) in midfield, a wide player (preferably two), and a goal-scorer. Rodriguez returning to fitness and form would be massive.
  22. If anyone is willing to buy Wanyama I would sell in an instant.
  23. Never mind the booking, he was abysmal from start to finish.
  24. Reed and Mane should have been on at half time.
  25. Shambles. Why was Wanyama not off at half time? He has been atrocious and the sending off was totally brainless. Koeman just as much to blame for leaving him on the pitch. And why is Mane not on? What is going on?!
