Haha maybe. I was a bit disappointed with the stage set up. It was literally just two plain white sets of stairs. I thought she'd have a bit more going on. As I said, I find her quite likeable, just dull. Managed to hobble along to Courtney Barnett last night, crutch n all. She was really good. Would recommend catching her. Had Spring King supporting, who were pretty good too actually.

I think the Bear is now confused that he's most likely seen me naked.

I'd go along with this. The reason for my above post was to try give a bit of back ground before the anti-outrage brigade come in getting all outraged.

There we go. I've been brave and gone for a picture of me, on the red carpet, at the oscars. Whatcha reckon Lou?

I've never had an avatar on here. I don't even know how to change it.

He hasn't actually seen me yet, so thinks I actually look like JLaw. Sssssh, don't ruin it for him. I'm in here.

Hmmm, I can see where he is coming from. The stabbed in the back thing is indeed a trope from post-WW1 Germany, and there was plenty of propaganda stating a belief that the Jews of Germany cost the country the war by, well, stabbing them in the back. This being a pretty well known example: Fallon's comments are pretty low, and with the way he uses the 'stabbed in the back' line with regards to his brother and then the country I can see why someone would draw the comparison. Not sure I agree with Mr Jones, but I can see where he is coming from. Fallon is just being a petty, crass scaremongerer though.

Someone's jealous GB has been flirting with someone else.

Thanks Jonny. TBF, this is the first and probably last post I'll receive of this nature. So I'll probs be ok

It wasn't an intentional diss, I am very fond of Smash Bros. Well, I was. I just haven't played any of them for years (probably going back to 64 days). Again, this is my main problem with Nintendo. Too much of it is multiplayer focused, and are often fantastically fun to play with mates. I just have no mates with Nintendo's, so the fun goes a bit. But yeah, you are probably right I'm probably being a bit harsh. ....I'm probably still better I was just never any good at it.

Hypo is very concerned with defending straight white guys. There is no sexism, there is no racism, convicted rapists are probably innocent.

You may be disappointed should I ever manage to make a TSW meet up.

Haha sorry, I may have commandeered it. I did enjoy your deployment of it with Baz. I've used it more lately, mostly because I've picked up the nickname JLaw. Apparently I look like her? Something to do with the hair, not sure I've seen her with a beard mind. Been called worst things like.

The forum is definitely better for Lou's posting. Some of the attention she gets is slightly odd, to say the least.

I'll be in Oz, so definitely cannot make that one. -
I am aware of the irony of the straight white fledgling designer calling for diversity.

Hmmm, sprogs are some way in the future for me! Can barely look after myself, let alone a little me! Would love to have a little gaming buddy round the house though. I try so hard to get the gf into games, as I'm not really a 'hardcore gamer' in that I don't really care for most AAA games, and I'm pretty bored of violent trope ridden titles that are churned out constantly. Not a dig, get why people like them, just not for me. I'm more into weird, quirky type games. Loving this at the minute for example. There's some really amazing stuff coming out of the indie scene right now. Before I get on too much of a tangent, and start a rant I've probably had before on here. Games writing is just crap, and there's a massive lack of ambition. Games need more diversity all round, from creators, to protagonists, to stories. Anyway, sorry I'll leave that there. That said Nintendo is pretty good for going a different way in this respect. There's more scope for the quirky, and different which is a good thing. That said, it is still pretty much a roll call of all their franchises (granted the quality of Nintendo franchises is pretty high and the innovation far outweighs their counterparts on Xbox/Ps). I've always enjoyed Smash Bros, but as with Mortal Kombat it's a tad button-bashy at times. I always loved the Mario Party games, but again they are much more fun played with mates. 'Spose least if I wait for Zelda, the console and games prices may have dipped at little. Still going to be a tough sell. Buying one console without permission that gets limited play is one thing, adding a second would cause serious headaches in the KRG flat!

I do really want one, but find Nintendo's are best for multiplayer with mates. As I have no mates that have a Wii-U, or any mates that come to mine with any regularity (apparently going from one end of the tube to the other is FAR too much effort) it wouldn't get played enough to justify it. It's hard enough finding time to get on the ps4 without the gf having a nag. This may all change once Zelda comes out. From what I have seen of it so far it looks like it could be mega (please, please be mega!).

Croatia & Montenegro well on their way also. On a tangent, they are both beautiful parts of the world. They've got decent taste at least.

Very sorry i couldn't make it. Didn't get through with work stuff til about 9, at which point I wanted to get home. Basically going to stop promising to attend these things, as I'm starting to look a bit of a prat. Not much change there. I do definitely want to come say hello at some point soon though. -
Not here Lou, on the thread.

I wonder if (and it's nothing more than that, I don't know anywhere near enough about the intricacies) if this is a bit of poker playing on the Greeks part? Especially coming off the back of this move http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/06/greece-puts-figure-of-279bn-on-claim-for-german-reparations What you reckon Pap?

I think it's pretty obvious Benteke has lots of ability, I'm not questioning that. But there is something about him that nags me. I'm just not 100% sold on him. I personally think for the money involved in getting him he would be a risky signing. Fantastic first season, and with the exception of a few flourishes (last night) has been largely indifferent this season and last. I know he had a pretty nasty injury, but I don't think he was pulling up trees before and hasn't done (except last night) since coming back. I wouldn't be disappointed if he did sign, he may well do very well for someone else, I just think there is more risk attached than seems to be mentioned. He's essentially had one good season. Not so sure on Deeney. Seen Watford a lot the last few years (was pretty local, and mates have season tickets so go along sometimes). He's definitely a goal scorer, and a brute, I just wonder if he is too much of a blunt object for the Prem. Think it's unfair to question his attitude, he was a prat when he was younger and did some silly things but has been pretty open about that and seemed to turn things around, so fair play to him for that. It's certainly made a difference to him on the pitch as well. That said, my Watford supporting ST holder was trying to convince me he was better than Harry Kane whilst we were watching the Derby game on Friday, I'm not too sure about that personally I think he'd get goals in the Prem, just not a huge amount and he would definitely come with a pretty hefty price tag. Personally, I'd really like us to go for Austin if QPR go down (even if they stay up really). For me he is the best bet of that bunch.

Being the model boyfriend that I am, I took the gf to see Paloma Faith at the 02 last week. Shocked as I was to see her sell out the venue, I was more surprised just how into people were. Like, people were losing their s**t all over the place. It's an odd one, she's quite likable and certainly has a cracking voice but her music is just so uninspired and middle of the road. No real hook their at all. Also found her politics talks, and Owen Jones guest slot (seriously) a bit odd. More my street, Mother took me to the TCT show to see Paul Weller with Johnny Marr supporting. Johnny was great fun, even if his set was more covers (I count The Smiths in this category) than his original tunes. Weller was a bit odd. Started with his new tune which sounded pretty good, then promptly stormed off stage. Something to do with some technical issues, then seemed to have the hump the rest of the night. Odd. He's also ditched the Weller haircut, which left several thousand middle-aged men sporting Weller haircuts looking slightly confused.
