  2. Nah, was about a year into his deal. EDIT: Sorry, forgot the link: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8821160/southampton-defender-luke-shaw-signs-a-new-five-year-deal

  4. Have we had this on here yet? Sorry if so,this thread moves fast so may have missed it. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/hundreds-of-firefighters-sign-open-letter-urging-dont-vote-tory-in-wake-of-brigade-cuts-10173819.html
  5. He does have a rather silly lid.
  6. I went to school with/lived opposite a girl called Lucy Kitchen. That is not her though. Boring unrelated nonsense aside. Pretty pleased with that line up. Hoping Chems will be the same time as Kanye. Definitely going to be heading up to Sharon van Etten on my own for a little weep, hope she's on the Park.
  7. Yeah probably not going to watch that at the office Pap. Currently this, Jamie xx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YNkAUtwMB4
  8. Inclined to agree with Pap on this. Though granted I didn't give it the fairest of shots (gave up before the end of series 1). It was dull, any issue or problem was solved with some over the top shoot out, often some sort of 3 vs 17 type scenario. And yeah, the acting is shocking. Somehow a Geordie is a more convincing American than the entire cast of Americans. I know a lot of people that rave about SoA, but I just don't get it. Unless everyone is just in it for Jackson? Pretty sure this is the reason the gf insisted it giving it longer. He's a handsome chap like.
  9. Haha saw them years ago, with Frank. Was pretty crazy, but good fun. Think I read that Frank is back under a new guise.
  10. You ever think that was the reason?
  11. I like it. Good ol fashioned we don't care how many you score, we'll score more. I'm all for the reintroduction of this approach.
  12. Does anyone know if players are not allowed to vote for players on their team? Seems odd he'd go for 4 Saints and no Chelsea otherwise. Half surprised he didn't put himself in. Though in fairness, he's had a p good season.
  13. Really? Are you seriously telling me there are no examples of people that have worked hard and not managed to lift themselves out of poverty? It's no wonder you don't understand how things like the riots if you think that is true. It's certainly not just a case of people wanting new ipads or trainers or whatever. It is funny though, it is estimated that 1800 years worth of jail time was handed out over the riots. Which were estimated to have caused £200-300m worth of damage. Banks cause £700b worth of damage to economy (that's just the bailouts), and they stay rich and not a day's jail time is dished out. But yeah, just work hard and life will be fair. I guess that was for me? Ha thanks.
  14. It's a nice principle, but it just doesn't work in the real world.
  15. Can we not do this please? People were not out rioting because they had mental health issues.
  16. Ah yes, the age old tory motto of you get out what you put in. People are poor because they are feckless. How exactly did Cameron come into all that wealth? Did he work hard for it? It's ******** of the highest order. If you are born on an inner city estate, where poverty is rife, crime is high and schools are crap the odds are stacked against you from the get go. Hard work alone does not solve societies problems. People are not poor, or in crap positions simply because they are lazy, feckless or didn't try at school.
  17. If someone could have a quiet word with Mr. xx and get him to get that album out, that would be great. Sounds like it's on course to be a belter.
  18. It's easier to ignore people that protest peacefully. "Yes ok, nice people. We understand that you are poor, and have severely hampered chances in life due to where you were born, to whom and [often] the colour of your skin. We'll have a chat about it, when we are done holidaying with our millionaire pals and see what we can do. What you need to understand though, is that our priority right now is to save the bankers (rich folk) that have gambled everyones money and made a right pig's ear of it. What this means is we need austerity. We shall take away all the systems that are put in place to help you guys (the most in need) away, to help our rich banker friends who got themselves in trouble. But thanks for being terribly nice about it old sports." Consider this has been going on for decades. Yeah, smash things up. But again, it's easy to just dismiss anger as thuggery. Especially when it already fits your convenient narrative that the poor are deserving, uncivilised and their through their own volition. They don't deserve help because they smash sh!t up. It's the same old thing trotted out all the time. Look at the reactions to the protestors in Ferguson, and across the States last year.
  19. Behave. You are comparing the richest most powerful people in society to the poorest most disenfranchised. Of course they wouldn't do that, but you can be damn sure they will use their money and influence to make life as hard for the politicians implementing the changes as possible. They'll riot f'sure, just in a different way. As Pap says, if you got no stake in society why the heck wouldn't you tear it down.
  20. Well played UJ
  21. It's an interesting viewpoint. I bet never before has a generation had disdain for the next generation...
  22. Are we allowed to do this now? Or is it all still a big media conspiracy to tar their name? Been saying it for ages, they are all nuts. They are all nasty, and the vast majority or ignorant, homophobic racists. F*ck UKIP. It speaks volumes that the party had to pretty much ban their candidates from talking publicly or giving interviews because everytime they do they come out with something awful. Seriously, f*ck those guys.
  23. Wasn't that the student protests?
  24. Stayed in Dubrovnik for just over a week couple of years ago. It is really nice, but thought we could probably have done with staying there for less time and going somewhere else as well. Have a hunt for the 2 Büza bars on the outside of the city walls, facing the sea. You can do trips to Montenegro as well, which is a gorgeous part of the world. It's pricier than you would think as well.
