Seems an odd one to me. If Pochetinno intends to play the same way at Spurs as he did here, I wouldn't have thought Townsend was his sort of player. AT is an out-and-out winger. Head down, get to the by-line put in a cross/or cut-in and spank it vaguely in the direction of the goal. When it comes off it looks good and every one is impressed - and it came off in a high profile game for England, once - therefore he must be amazing. Oh an he is quick of course. This just doesn't seem to fit in with Poch's style, I wouldn't have thought. He is too direct, and too prone to giving the ball away.

Not that I'd be adverse to him, but seems weird so many managers have overlooked him and there hasn't been a huge deal of interest from elsewhere over the years. Possibly something in that (not suggesting I know anything to say there is)? Maybe he is just there to be the 'quota'.

Haven't seen the interview. But if this is true, why should we blame the board? How is it their fault Lovren and Lallana acted in a pretty poor manner? I don't really see many (sensible) people having a go at Rickie for his move or conduct. But, players on £30k ish maybe more a week threatening to go on strike is pathetic. It makes a mockery of teachers, nurses etc who work effing hard, take a lot of crap and in most instances don't earn what these guys make a week in a year. So yeah, for people like Lallana and Lovren I think fans have a right to blame them.
