  1. Oh so many lols to be had. I admit I got a bit fed up and wasn't really sure what was going on. But Jesus, some posters (the usual planks that never learn) went way over the top. And the bog standard response is of course "wahhhh you're pathetic, it's not fair to say my predictions were wrong(/stupid). Even though I said you were delusional, it's easy in hindsight etc". Completely ignoring the fact it's easy in foresight to see these posts are OTT. Seriously, you'd think you'd learn to temper your posts a tad with a bit of experience. "Oh, it didn't go too well last time maybe I should take a breath and see how this pans out a bit."
  2. Pretty much stand by this to be honest. He's perfectly fine, if not amazing. Usually needs a couple of games to hit his top level, which isn't at all uncommon really.
  3. Wahhhhhhhhhhh "fat Kat" is asset stripping!! She even sold the f***ing coach! Wahhhhhh!!!
  4. Should really be way down on the priorities list, really. RB WF CB GK All these positions should be addressed before looking at someone like Holtby, imo.
  5. Dependant on how the other '2' (Tadic/Jrod/Long/AN Other) play, imo. If they get in and around Pelle (which we have seen they will need to do) then this will help utilise Gaston. If they can cut in a bit, and are supported by Clyne and Bertrand, obviously Morgan & Big Vic sit and cover infront of the CB's, this could potentially be quite fruitful. Gaston could look more to supply the runs of JRod, Tadic, or the overlapping full-backs.
  6. In the future, yes. Right now, that is a back line that would scare me. IMO, it's a bit harder with defender to chuck them in young.
  7. He can't really win with you can he? He clearly 'hopes' to get something done. So that would suggest there is work being done to make it happen. Sometimes, these things just don't work out. If he says, yes, we are absolutely 100% going to bring in x,y,z and it doesn't happen, he going to get crucified as well.
  8. If anyone has the number of his supplier, wing it my way please. Ta.

  10. The final week of the window is always the busiest. And it's always 'the rest' doing the business. Yet every window people can't grasp this and still moan about how awful Saints are. We are no different to anyone else, we just (for obvious reasons) focus on Saints more than others.
  11. JRod really suffered from being played out of position in a team that performed really poorly. He was played as left-midfielder for England, where as for us he was effectively a second striker coming in from the left.
  12. Isn't Edinburgh a proper millionaire's hotspot? I think I heard something along the lines of it having the highest proportion of millionaires in Europe or something silly like that (this was a few years back, like). Also, many in London aren't dead keen on HS2. I've mentioned on here before how it will go right through my home town (Ruislip) and there's a pretty big campaign down here against it. Many here agree that it is a waste of $$$
  13. I think this is often our problem. A couple of good games and you are fast-tracked into the Full Squad. How many of the German World Cup team played together in the U21s side that battered us in the Final? I know it's not necessarily comparable to say this team did this, we should do the exact same, but still.
  14. I like Huddlestone. If he was a bit more mobile, he'd be a cracking player I reckon.
  15. There is an argument that Scottish MP's are overly powerful. The "West Lothian Question" suggests that Sottish MPs can exert undue influence in Parliament, voting on matters and therefore implementing laws that have no impact on their constituents. For example, Scottish MPs can obviously still vote on matters of health and education despite these issues being concerns of the Scottish Parliament. Gordon Brown was a Prime Minister in a country within a country with it's own Parliament, passing laws which didn't affect those that voted for him. It's a bizarre system, that is for sure.
  16. You almost have to admire the dazzling lack of self-awareness.
  17. *Controversial Opinion* I think the NHS needs to be totally dismantled and started again. I am not for one minute advocating a private system, or a health insurance type system. I am all for an NHS style system, I just think there are major improvements that can be made - and for these to happen a lot of vested interests are going to have to be challenged (I am of course aware that this will make it nigh on impossible to tackle). There seems to be mass hysteria at the mere mention of wanting to make changes to the NHS, surely we should aspire to make the system the best it can be - especially for the amount of public money poured into it (I do not have any problem with public money being used for healthcare, just to clarify). From where I am sat this just leads to inertia and wastage. Simply put, from my short time at the NHS and talking to NHS workers I know (I seem to have a rather above average amount of people linked to the NHS in my life) there are some serious issues. The structure is far too top heavy. It's no secret that there are too many management types, which leads to too much bureaucracy and people attempting to justify their jobs. The NHS is fantastic at many things - emergency care for example is one of them. However, there are some serious areas for improvement - yet this is typically met with hysteria at the slightest mention. Especially if it comes from a Conservative PM/Minister/MP. That said, I'm not dead keen on this govt's reforms of the NHS.
  18. Maybe they are waiting for us to make a move, before deciding to do so themselves? Saving a packet on 'middle-man' fees in the meantime

  20. True. Nigel Farage case in point.
  21. There were a few (massive minority I hasten to add) that were groaning and getting on his back last night in the first half last night. They were sat a few rows back from me. Other than that the fans were really good to him, and he seemed to genuinely appreciate that.
  22. New Interpol album (may be premature, have only just this minute put it on) http://www.npr.org/2014/08/26/341629732/first-listen-interpol-el-pintor
  23. Palace have (re-)appointed Warnock. Struggle to see them staying up now to be honest.
